This is a custom holster for a 1977 R***r Security-Six in .357. This is my favorite style of outside the waistband holsters, with 1 belt loop integrated into the design behind the firearm, making it more compact. I’ve started calling this the Harbinger design. Still giving 2 points of contact on the belt, while narrowing the design compared to a standard pancake holster.

Some crafters stray away from leather with marks and scars, but I think it gives so much character and personality! It reminds you that each project, and each hide has a narrative that can’t be fabricated.

This was a really cool project. I was asked to make an IWB holster that could be worn without a belt, so I tried magnets, something that I’ve seen done before. It worked out beautifully. The magnets are strong enough to hold firmly through the leather and pants material, also giving a great amount of retention from the slide on the pistol too. This one was custom made for a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield.
