⚓️Saint Augustine Sailing Sister’s Bikini Race is on Saturday, August 3. Before the big race, you can Vote for a Boat! Both the Betty Griffin Center and St. Francis House women’s programs benefit. Good luck to all the boats that are participating. Our daughter is on the Estelle Team this year!

⚓️We’re returning to the Art in the Garden Festival at the Jacksonville Zoo again this year. The festival is included with your general admission ticket to the zoo this weekend. We’ll have our handmade bags in several sizes available both Saturday and Sunday, which also happens to be Mother’s Day. All of our bags are repurposed from old sails that we have saved from going to the landfill. We hope you’ll come enjoy the zoo and stop by to see us and the other creative vendors that will be there.

⚓️When I’m not sewing bags, I try to help fellow boaters out when they come to me with a request. Actually working on five completely different things at the moment. A gentleman on the dock asked if I could remove the lettering on the back of his little sport fisherman he had purchased and put a new name on? Sure, I’ll give it a try as I had put a new port name on the transom of our trawler. He handed me a paper with the font and how he wanted it. I did suggest and added the mahi after I showed him what it looked like after I removed the old lettering and buffed the back. There was a faded outline I just couldn’t buff out with the compound. Last night he and his friends did their champagne blessing over the new name. Now he’s ready to go do some fishing.

⚓️I’ve been making items out of recycled sails for thirteen years, but today marked two years of sewing them on our old trawler. It’s hard to believe that we moved on board TWO years ago today! We are very blessed to be in such a great marina here on the San Sebastián River in Saint Augustine, Florida.
