STATE CONVENTION 26’!

Day 1 of state convention we arrived opening session! Leah, our chapter president was in the Farm Credit newsroom helping eveeyone get their pictures. Later on, the chapter met up and went to Maid Rite to have lunch. Then came session 2! During the pre-session, Leah got the honor of carrying a flag representing one of the “FFA in the USA” reporters! We also go to see Ryan perform in the FFA band. We wrapped up our day by going to our hotel and having some pizza for dinner!

DAY 2 of state convention began with Trevor getting recognized for winning his proficiency at the state level! After that, we ate some great food at Jimmy John’s. During the second session our chapter was able to participate in courtesy corp, and then was able to watch Lydia, Delaney, Emma, Ethan, and Trevor be recognized for earning their state degree. Later that day we got to go to the trivia night, where our theme was Christmas and one as 4th of July. Trivia was extremely fun and cannot wait to do it again next year!

DAY 3 of state convention started with working courtesy corp. Then, our chapter got to hear the speeches from the candidates for major state offices! After elections came lunch where we had Jimmy John’s (again!) Finally, during the last session we got to see the new state officers be installed! Leah was in the Farm Credit newsroom taking pictures once more, and after the session we got to see Charlie and congratulate him on his past year of being the section 17 president! Then we started to head home!

The FFA had the opportunity to help the Girl Scouts plant seeds earlier this spring, and donated a few flowers from the greenhouse all to help get their community garden started! Please go to the Grand Opening of the Saint Joseph Community Garden tomorrow afternoon!

🟦🟨 Officer school 2026! 🟦🟨

The 2026-2027 officer team spent 2 days hard at work learning what it means to be an officer, what to expect while being on the team, and the importance of moving forward together. These are just a few of the many topics that were brought up during our stay.

Not only did we work on chapter logistics, we also had team bonding at a series of different locations.

Thank you to .ffa for letting us into their very busy building during state convention prep. They provided our officer team with a tour of the facility and an opportunity to see how individuals across the state come together to work on putting on a show for hundreds of FFA members to enjoy!

Thank you to for letting us use their conference room so our officers can work together on planning for the upcoming school year.

A huge thank you goes to the UIS Challenge course for guiding our team through a series of challenges for our officer team to tackle and bond over. Some of the main focuses were that if one officer fails to do their part, it affects everyone. Additionally: Communication is essential to having a successful year where events run smoothly.

Finally, a massive thank you to James, who was our guide throughout the challenge course. He not only took us through the challenge course, but also took many of the photos you see above AND gave us a special tour of many of the facilities on the UIS campus including the UIS E-Sports facility, indoor sports training center, and a few on-campus statues/monuments.

Everyone on the officer team enjoyed everything we did and are very grateful for everyone that made this possible. We cannot wait for the new FFA yea to begin!
