-A SANTA SUIT

Really people?

Yes I really rcvd these calls the past week.

Now let’s be realistic.
IF I had the fabric on hand and no other work I could get a plain shift wedding gown done in 2-3 days using couture methods and you have to be available at the drop of a hat for fittings. Yes more than 1 fitting. 4 hrs if you want fast fashion and aren’t picky about fit or loose threads. Oh…and no beading/pearls/crystals.

Santa suit? Amazon is way faster. Next day if you’re lucky. Santa’s take weeks to order supplies in the red that YOU just have to have. Fur takes a bit to source. Once I have supplies it takes 2-3 weeks. That’s why I have you order Santa suits in April-June with a non-refundable deposit.

Earlier in the month I teased what was being created for today’s bride from her mother’s early 1990’s wedding gown. There are still a few pieces to be made for the next child’s wedding but this is the result of 3 days of unpicking laces off of taffeta and 2 days of re-beading and sewing.

Came home from today’s chaos to needles and pins. It really is therapy for me! I am taking in no more jobs until December and those will be limited. Costumes start soon for the winter musical at SMMHS.

Well I’ve spent day 2 of deconstructing a moms wedding gown to make wedding accessories for the bride to be. Due Monday at the latest. My fingers are too sore to cross so please cross yours for me! I’ll post the pieces next Friday after the wedding.
