What does 18 years of running and owning a business look like?

It's wondering how you managed to grow a business from a spare bedroom in your house, but being thankful that you didn't grow too quickly and burn out.

It's 18 years of your husband being patient with you as you decided you want to change the craft show booth layout. Again.

It's designing some prints that you are in love with and think will do so well, but they don't. It's being pleasantly surprised by the ones you weren't sure about doing extremely well.

It's looking back at photos of your babies in photoshoots and being in awe of how tiny they use to be. It's also loving who they have become.

Sweetpea and Co. is kind of like one of my kids, and like with my children, I have put in work and time and hoped that it will thrive. It's not always an easy thing to keep going, but I also wouldn't have it any other way.

If Sweetpea and Co. were a person, she could vote, serve on a jury, or finally get that tattoo! What I'm really saying is — this little business has been around for a long time.

I started Sweetpea and Co. in 2008 out of my condo's sunroom in St. Paul, with no idea how far it would go.

Over the years, I've had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people — at local shows, the MN State Fair, and at our brick-and-mortar shop. Excited first-time grandparents. Doting aunts and uncles. Kids who long ago outgrew their Sweetpea onesies and are back for a larger t-shirt. Survivors of the Blizzard of '91, and so many more.

As a thank-you to our community near and far, we're celebrating with a 25% off everything birthday sale — no codes needed.

The sales of our In Minnesota, We Are All Family charity tee are still going strong! So far we have raised $2,522 for the Immigrant Defense Network, a Minnesota based nonprofit dedicated to protecting and advancing the constitutional rights of immigrant communities across Minnesota.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this cause. There are still tees and stickers available if you would like to purchase one for yourself, family or friends.
