Today, May 15th, marks the official beginning of Straw Hat Season! Traditionally, one would swap their wool hats for lighter straw to better handle the warmer weather. While it didn't exactly feel like straw hat weather today in Salem with temps in the 40s, the rest of the weekend looks to be much warmer! Come join us in an awesomely unique boutique environment in Salem, one of Massachusetts' most wonderfully eclectic cities!

We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:
- Part Time Sales Associates
- Fall Seasonal Part Time

We meet thousands of people from all over the globe, and often receive new shipments of product daily. It can be demanding and chaotic at times, but we strive to cultivate a fun and inspiring work environment surrounded by amazing products and good people, with a strong focus on customer service. If you've always wanted to join our team, or just want a front row seat for what Salem is like (particularly during the upcoming Spooky Season), this could be your chance!

We offer a competitive hourly wage ($18-$21 per hour for sales associates, depending on experience), and some great perks and benefits: 25% employee discounts, seasonal bonus, paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays off, health insurance options, and more!

Our ideal candidate would have flexible availability (weekends included) as well as prior retail and Salem experience. Fall seasonal positions are offered from September through November 2026.

Yesterday was Independent Bookstore Day. Did you know that our co-owner Nick is a third generation bookseller? His grandfather owned a bookstore in California, Peninsula Books, from 1962-1980, and his mother worked there during high school. We're so proud to continue this family tradition, and to provide our community with a rotating selection of classic novels, books on art and culture, and tomes celebrating history and legend.

Salem Tartan update- Blankets have finally arrived at our studio! Thank you all so much for your patience with this project. Global unrest and the closing of the Strait of Hormuz caused much more of a delay in shipping than we could ever have planned for, but we're so excited to finally send these off to their new homes.
We will be packing and shipping these out early next week, so keep an eye on your inboxes for shipping confirmation and tracking info.
Like the scarves and capes, once all of our pre-orders ship out, we'll have blankets available for sale in both of our Salem shops.
I hope you all adore them as much as we do, they are so cozy and the quality is amazing. 🐑

Salem Tartan pre-Order update! If you ordered a scarf or a cape, all orders have shipped and as of posting time, most have been delivered! If you ordered a blanket, we are still waiting on them to arrive at our studio. Once they do, they'll start shipping out immediately. We just received our sample, and trust us, they'll be well worth the wait.

Scarves and Capes will be available in our store starting this weekend.

These new, antique-inspired romantic rings are the perfect gift for your Valentine this year.

Our new REGARD collection is very near and dear to our hearts. Set with a secret message of adoration, the first letters of the gemstones correspond with the word REGARD - Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, & Diamond - and are set in that sequence. First introduced in France in 1809, "REGARD" jewelry soon became very popular tokens of loving sentiments.

We are also thrilled to offer a stunning replica of Queen Victoria's engagement ring. Did you know that her ring was a golden, jewel encrusted serpent?

Salem Tartans are officially on their way to us! They're scheduled to arrive at our warehouse in the next week and we just can't wait. Once they arrive, we'll start packing and shipping pre-orders in the order they were received, so please reach out if there are any address changes. Scarves and capes will ship first, with blankets following once they arrive.
Speaking of capes, our weavers sent us a sample last week and they are absolutely divine- so warm and cozy! We have less than a dozen capes still available from this batch and won't be getting more in until the fall, so don't wait if you were hoping for one this season.

The Salem's So Sweet festival is this weekend! This is Salem's annual celebration before Valentine's Day, featuring ice sculptures and art installations, chocolate tastings, and festive sweets. We commissioned local artist to paint our windows, and we absolutely love the festive and whimsical reinterpretation of our logos!

We've been asked for pocket watch chains for years, and now they're finally available! Made in Germany in the 1920s-early 30s by the Jakob Bengel company, these gorgeous chains are brand new actual antiques, never before used "new-old-stock". We picked these up on our last trip to London, and only have one of each style available. They're the perfect accessory to any vest or waistcoat, whether you have a pocket watch or not!
