Hey guys!! I'd like to introduce myself. I don't know if I've ever done that before, sooo, here we go.
My name is Bekah, and I have two Etsy shops.
The first one is a Print on Demand (POD) shop, which I opened about a year ago. And my second shop is 100% handmade items, and I opened that one about 3 weeks ago. (I've been working on it for about 3 months previous to opening up shop.)
My entrepreneur journey started last January, 2024, when I realized that our financial situation probably wasn't going to improve anytime soon, and neither was the economy.
Soooo, my Etsy journey began. I officially opened my POD shop last January, and I made ZERO sales for about a month. Then I started bringing some of my own traffic, and I finally started making sales after a couple of months. In April I landed on a Bestseller (a Solar Eclipse shirt) and I made about 300 sales in 2 weeks. 😳🙌🎉 That was wild. Once the Eclipse was over, my bestseller dropped like a hot rock, and then my shop was crickets. 😢
I will say, I did make about 500 sales during my first year, and got into the top 12% of Etsy sellers, which I am really proud of.
Soooo.... let me cut to where I am now.
Long story short, my POD Etsy shop has been crawling like a snail since my bestseller dropped out. So I started brainstorming for ideas for a new Etsy shop. Something not POD.
And I landed on my Folded Book Art and Floral Decor. I learned how to do book art YEARS ago, and I love it! It's so satisfying to see a word or design come to life in such a unique way! And for anyone wondering, yes, it takes quite a bit of time, effort, and patience to do folded books. Hence why they are a bit higher in price.
So. That's my story. I'm at the very beginning of my journey with my second shop, but I am so excited and hopeful for it's potential!
Thank you for being here! And if you read this entire post, thanks for reading the whole thing! 🤗
