Time is a precious resource, yet millions of women around the world face a silent crisis—time poverty.

This means they are constantly juggling work, caregiving, household responsibilities, and more. It can be incredibly overwhelming and stressful.⁣

👩🏻‍💼 In fact, studies show that women in Guatemala do an average of 5 hours of unpaid work each day, compared to men's .48 minutes.
This inequality not only affects women's well-being, but also their career prospects and financial stability. ⁣

🌟 As a non-profit that believes women are catalysts for change, we're committed to creating opportunities that allow them to actively engage, lead, and contribute to their communities.

That is why we are sharing about time poverty and advocating for opportunities that can help alleviate this burden. ⁣

WOMEN MAKE UP HALF THE GLOBAL POPULATION, yet they continue to face exclusion, abuse, and many other gender-based challenges.

Tomorrow is and this is not just a disheartening truth; it's a glaring injustice that demands our attention and action.

Women and girls have been historically sidelined in many aspects of society, and this is no different here in Guatemala.

The problem is: their exclusion and suffering doesn't just hurt them; it hurt's society as a whole.

When we exclude or mistreat women and girls, we're holding back half of our potential, half of our creativity, and half of our solutions to the world's problems.

It's not about giving them power; it's about recognizing and unleashing the incredible power they already possess and that is the aim of our work with TK Collective.

Dreams are universal, but opportunities are not. -The other day, we gave a young girl a ride, and our conversation went like this:

Us: "Are you in school?"
Her: "Yes, I'm getting ready to graduate. I'm doing my practical's now." (later high school is usually career focused)
Us: "What are you studying?"
Her: "I want to be a nurse."
Us: "Are you planning to go to university to be a nurse?"
Her: "Yes, if I can get a scholarship."
Us: "Is that common here?"
Her: "No."
Us: "Have you already started applying for scholarships?"
Her: "No, it's really hard here."
Us: "Do you know people who have gotten scholarships?"
Her: "No."
Us:....................

This conversation is all too common for young women in Guatemala.

Dreams are big, but opportunities are scarce.
