The most sought after silhouette/style in Chanel’s arsenal. This bag was introduced in the 1950’s as the 2.55 Bag. It was born out of House’s desire to create a handbag that was both beautiful and practical.
The Flap Bag featured a quilted leather design, a chain strap that allowed it to be worn on the shoulder— A novelty at the time—and a distinctive lock.
The most notable evolution of this bag came in the 1980s under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld, who introduced the “CC” turn lock, replacing the Mademoiselle Lock.
This exact bag we have is from 2010 and features a black patent leather finish with silver hardware and the signature CC turnlock.
