Happy Veterans Day!
We think this is a great opportunity to reflect on the fact that A LOT of the iconic cannabis advocates who we admire so much have been veterans themselves for instance, Dennis Peron, Jack Herer and the man on this post today Eddy Lepp.
Eddy Lepp, born Charles Edward Lepp, is a Vietnam War veteran and California-based medical ma*****na activist, world-renowned cultivator, author, poet, and artist born in 1952.
he was raided and faced 4 consecutive life sentences, plus 40 years in federal penitentiary, and $17,000,000 in fines. Eddy ended up sentenced to federal prison in 2008 for conspiracy to manufacture ma*****na, as well as conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, and served 8.5 years of a 10 year sentence – the absolute minimum of time required, and no fines as the judge presiding over the case saw the injustice of his original charges. He was finally released in 2016. He succumbed to cancer after a long battle on August 16 at 69 years old.
It is important to remember the people who came before us and created the historic foundation for the cannabis legalization movement. Eddie Lepp fought for not only his own right to grow and consume w**d legally, but for all of us.
