And so, I begin again. 📸⚱️
Been a little absent on here, but I’m back 💪
Life happened, and I focused a lot of my time building on my experience as a yoga teacher over at Alula Yoga and Apothecary.

Tbh, I struggle with taking well-lit, quality pictures of goods, and the whole task of uploading listings…not my fav thing to do in life…but I have a new art room now and more natural-lit space to take the pics in—since we moved , yes, like the band 😎We dig our new home, and my plan is to list all of my inventory, both over at Ananda Minerals and here at instagram.com/urbanfantasia apothecary. I have been collecting some really fun vintage things, functional, and lovely, and I’m excited to share!

On EBay, I will be able to reduce my prices since their fees aren’t as atrocious as . I will still continue to offer outstanding “star seller” customer service and inventory, crystal treasures with every purchase, and fully disclosed descriptive information on every vintage piece. Please join me in this movement as many are vacating Etsy over their new price increases.

I am striking to protest Etsy’s treatment of sellers. I have put both of my shops Urban Fantasia and Ananda Minerals on vacation mode from April 11-18 in support of the due to Etsy raising the (already) high transaction fees from 5% to 6.5% (that is a 30% increase!) so that they can invest more unnecessary money into their company, even though they had record profits the last two years! Their enormous transaction fees already cut into any kind of profit my small business makes. Due to this increase, I will have no choice but to raise my prices, which makes it even harder to compete in this marketplace.

Buyers can support the strike too, by boycotting Etsy.com from April 11-18, and looking for ways outside of Etsy to support sellers.

These are the seller’s demands for the :

▪️Cancel the fee increase.
▪️Crack down on resellers with a comprehensive plan that is transparent, so sellers can hold Etsy accountable.
▪️Give ‘Golden’ support tickets to sellers affected by extreme AI actions (account termination, 45/90 day holds, etc.)
▪️End the Star Seller Program. (I do like this program, and have worked hard for my star seller status, but do see how this hurts many sellers).
▪️Give all sellers the ability to opt out of off site ads.

I hate to lose sales for a week, but I feel that this is only way Etsy will wake up to our frustration! This is my main source of income, and I hope that this can be resolved. In the meantime, I will be researching other ways to sell my vintage goods.

Ephemera are any transitory written or printed matters that are not meant to be retained or preserved for long periods of time. The word derives from the Greek word, ephemeros, meaning "lasting only one day, short-lived". But those that are delicate with antique preservation know how important ephemera is to our history. I love discovering old paper products that have lasted the test of time and could still be used today. These 1920’s era paper goods are in excellent antique condition and are still functional. They even have my favorite motifs of the Art Deco and Art Nouveau design movements. And how darling is the original photo in the frame? I love her!
