Had to see if the rumors were true and yes, the fish are here, they’re getting closer, and there are a lot of them.
I was able to get enough of the crew to make last minute and questionable scheduling decisions to make this trip a go. Most were on their first or second tuna trip but they got more dialed every drop, and despite some sporty conditions, a few misses and tear outs, we managed to get a first bluefin for 2 and a PB bluefin for another. That last one was holding on by a thread and staying deep, after a long fight Lev put a holding shot in it at 27m for the win
Got back to the dock before dawn and 2 hrs later Lev was teaching a refresher, .dew was on a spear course, and was on a long range boat (glutton).
This season could get silly. is running an open party trip with us July 7-8 and hope to get more of those on the books. Every May weekend is booked, and the few we have open the rest of the year will go quick. Hope to get out there with you all, this season might be the one that gets talked about for a while!
