We stopped making samples. Or at least, samples no one could wear.

These pants began while we were refining a new kids’ pants pattern. Instead of making sample after sample in muslin, we used the vintage and one-off fabrics we’d been collecting. Every adjustment became a real pair of pants.

The shape is where we want it now, but we’re keeping the process: small runs, special fabrics given a useful next life, and no two releases exactly alike.

The first San Francisco Studio Pants are in Dark Stripe, and there are only a few pairs.

Made in our San Francisco studio. Shop through the link in bio.

We chose a fabric we knew would run out.

The Western pockets on these Play Jeans began with a limited piece of vintage fabric. That was part of what made it special: we worked with what we found and made a small batch knowing we wouldn’t be able to reorder the exact material.

Now only a few Western-pocket pairs are left. Once they’re gone, this exact vintage fabric won’t be restocked.

But it has us thinking about what could come next. We’re working on something behind the scenes inspired by the spirit of this print—something we hope can stick around longer than a vintage find ever could.

We aren’t ready to show it yet. More soon.

Find the remaining Western-pocket pairs online.

This T-shirt gets stained.

Not because we’re trying to stain it. Because the choices behind it come with a tradeoff we’re happy to make.

Our natural graphic tees start with undyed organic cotton grown in the USA. We don’t dye the fabric or add a synthetic stain-resistant finish. Each graphic is screen printed by hand in our San Francisco studio with water-based ink.

That means a light-colored tee may not stay pristine—and we’re okay with that. We chose these materials because what touches little skin matters to us, then gave the tee a relaxed fit made to size up, wear oversized, and grow into.

The marks become part of the story. The tee can still be worn, loved, and handed down.

Shop the tees online or visit us at 700 Lombard.

Save this for the next time somebody tells you kids’ clothes should stay spotless.

What color is a slow morning?

Pillow Cream, Sleepy Blue, Blanket Green, and Strawberry Jam.

Rumpled covers, breakfast berries, favorite tees, and nowhere to rush off to. A soft little palette for cozy layers and the beautiful blur of a morning.

Just a knitting machine in a neighborhood studio.

We’re starting to make more of our line right here in our San Francisco studio, beginning with small-batch baby blankets and scarves we think your family will love.

Everything else we make is produced as close to home as we can get it too — from the cotton being grown, to the fabric being knit, to the final cut-and-sew process.

Slowly, thoughtfully, and with kindness guiding the process the whole way through.

For the days leading up to Mother’s Day, we’re thinking about all the ways love shows up.

In the tiny socks that somehow never match.
In snacks packed before anyone asks.
In the hands that carry, hold, fold, wash, wipe, reach, and let go.

For the moms, the grandmas, the tías, the caregivers, and the people mothering in ways seen and unseen — we hope today is gentle and full of love and color.

We made a place for things to keep going.

The Kids Community Closet is a shared rack of children’s clothes and toys at our shop. You can bring something your kid has outgrown. You can take something that fits right now. Both belong here.

Take what you need. Leave what you can.

No assumptions. No rules around who it’s for. Just a simple way to care for each other and for what we already have.
