Hey, the first additional growth scan is done. Thankfully, everything is still going great with the baby and according to the sonographer, the baby seems to be a bit too comfortable with me 🙈
Our baby is actually big, quite big. They already indicated that the baby is measuring above the 96th percentile and it is expected to increase even further 🥴
I asked the sonographer if my eating habits could have caused this or if there was anything I could do to influence it. 🥦 The response was no! Apparently, it has much more to do with genetics and the effectiveness of your placenta (blood flow). So, our little one is just doing really well with me 🤎
What does this mean for the delivery? I will have two more growth scans and it will determine whether I will have a "medical indication" and be induced again at 38 weeks.
Thankfully, I now know what the induction process entails, but it was not a pleasant experience! I noticed that my body was not ready at 37.6 weeks. My amniotic sac couldn't be artificially "broken," and my contractions didn't start despite the use of oxytocin... 🥺 However, I also know that every delivery can be different, especially with a second child.
Did your delivery go differently with your second child? 🤍👇🏻
