One of the rarer pieces we’ve had come across the shop in a long time. This is somethin you only see in the movies these days! A very rare and iconic counter culture favorite from 1970s; this East West Musical Instruments leather jacket is a piece of hippie history. Sewn here in SF, we love these jackets because they are all one of a kind; handcrafted and customized to the wearer. It will be coming with us to this Sunday! Come check her out. Such a special piece of history.

We made a little more room for the diaper bo**ie; couple of side inserts did the trick on these 70s orange tab baby Levi’s. One of our recent custom alterations. We love doing alterations, reworks and repairs on clothes for the littles too. Reach out to learn more.

A few before and after shots of a custom repair on this well-loved Ben Davis lab coat. Many many spools of thread went into the reviving of this piece and it was well worth it. A big thank you to Celia for trusting us with this awesome vintage piece (inherited from her late father who worked in it).

Join us for mend club Sunday Nov 16th and Dec 14th!

This will be a community mending circle to work on your projects, connect with sustainably minded folks, and get help from repair experts.

This is not a structured class per se, rather a dedicated work time to keep each other accountable, meet other menders in your community, and learn from each other. Audrey from and Lindsey from the Future Past will help with any questions about how to approach your repairs, demonstrate techniques needed to tackle them, and provide advice and inspiration. Please only bring hand-mending projects (no machine work).

Before and after repairs on a customers beloved pair of vintage 501s!

backpatched both thigh and knee areas, filled in the missing weft thread with sashiko threads, sewed the backpatch into place and then darned over the more heavily damaged areas. She did the same process for the bo**ie repair. She then used a sashiko design on the right knee to help reinforce the patches and to add a little fun visible mending element. Lastly she sewed the outseam back up and voila! All done.

We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting a mending club with ! This will be a monthly mending circle hosted in our shop on Clement Street. Mend club will give you the opportunity to dedicate time and space to your repair projects, meet new people, and learn from others. We will not be teaching a class per se, but we will be there to answer any questions and offer support and guidance on any projects you might be working on.
