This May 2026, San Francisco is partnering with Chick Mission, an incredible organization helping young women with cancer preserve their fertility through funding, education, and advocacy.

We are so proud to continue showcasing Malia Mills “in house” at The Bar Code, 3600 Sacramento Street in San Francisco, as part of our evolving retail residency concept centered around female founded brands, individuality, confidence, and community.

Founded in New York City in 1993, Malia Mills was built on one simple truth: women are rockstars.

Long before conversations around inclusive sizing became mainstream, Malia pioneered bra sized swim separates from A to F cup and sizes 1 to 22, engineering pieces that celebrate women exactly as they are. Finally Freedom, confidence, individuality, and a subtle but unmistakable rebel spirit.
From swimwear to ready to wear, underwear, and accessories, the collection embodies joie de vivre, savoir faire, and fearless femininity, something we are incredibly proud to have as part of the Sacramento Street community.

Please stop by this month to support both this beautiful partnership and one of the most iconic female founded brands in fashion of all time.

There is something about spring on Sacramento Street… the light beams, the doors stay open a little longer, and you can feel the neighborhood waking up again after the first of the year 🌸
…And then, a fellow merchant bunny appears holding a ‘Stephen Sherrill’ sign 🐰 It felt symbolic of something much bigger happening across District 2 (the local areas) Sacramento Street, Laurel village, Chestnut, Union, Fillmore. Our merchant are coming back to life in a tangible way.
has shown up for local businesses with consistency and care. Not just words, but action. Supporting the people who open their doors every morning and keep these streets bright & alive.
That energy is what inspired me to formally create the Presidio Heights Business District Alliance. To build structure around what we all feel, a commitment to strengthening, protecting, and elevating our neighborhood.
Easter is a moment of renewal. A reminder that after challenge comes growth, and that rebuilding is not only possible, it is powerful.
That is exactly what San Francisco feels like right now.
We are a city reawakening, our communities are reconnecting and merchant districts are rising together!

Thank you to Supervisor Sherrill and the Board for this honor during Women’s History Month and around International Women’s Day. In 1999, encouraged by my girlfriends, I took a risk and opened my first store, Brown Eyed Girl. My mom believed I should start my own business partly because I’m dyslexic and she knew I had a gift for ideation and that working in a rigid corporate structure might crush my creativity. She was right. When I opened Brown Eyed Girl, I wrote a mission statement that still guides me today: “I wanted to offer the women of San Francisco something greater than off-the-rack retail, a place where women could gather and share their stories, because women have stories and unless they are told we lose our voice as a community.” That idea continued with my bridal store, And Something Blue. I expanded from selling bridesmaids dresses to a full bridal salon in 2012 during a moment when marriage equality was becoming the law of the land. I remember the first time two brides walked into my store together. Suddenly I could style both of them for their wedding day, no matter what state they came from. Watching that shift happen in real time was incredibly powerful. Today with the mission continues to evolve. It’s ultimately about raising the bar for creativity, entrepreneurship, co-creation and community on Sacramento Street. Along the way I’ve also lived with an autoimmune disease that disproportionately affects women, but that experience has only strengthened my belief that when women support one another, there is very little that can stop us. So today, March 10, and every day, my goal is simple: to keep raising the bar for creativity, entrepreneurship, and women’s voices in this city that I love so much. I have a deep sense that fashion and politics merge to create pop culture…

I’ve been writing so much about Lyme lately (because awareness saves lives,) but today I’m turning the page back to my three “babies” the businesses that carried me through pain and gave me so much joy, mostly thanks to the incredible women who walked through the doors. 💃

👗 Brown Eyed Girl; my first love on Washington & Broderick, once described by Lucky Magazine as “a closet every city girl dreams about.” (Still pinching myself over that one, felt very SJP at the time)

💍 … And Something Blue; first at 3600 Sacramento and now thriving on Presidio & Sacramento street, where we styled brides from the inside out, surrounded by one-of-a-kind dresses/ jumpsuits and a backdrop that was equal parts Vintage Parisian romance and urban grit chic. A time of confidence, couture, and maybe a tad too much champagne .

🍸The Bar Code SF Pop ups where I finally hosted some of the most thoughtful and talented designers in the world. Fist at Pier 3 circa 2009, then permanently in Presidio heights and a few traveling.
TBC is currently on a little R&D sabbatical (stay tuned.)

🩱🧳In the meantime, I’m beyond excited to share that the fabulous will be taking over The Bar Code space until January 2028! Talk about keeping good company. Come in for the vibes and get custom styled head to toe.

Business, for me, has always been about more than clothes, jewelry, or cocktails it’s been about women, community, creativity, and resilience. And damn, do I feel lucky. 🌈

Join Malia Mills for a toast to spring’s renewal at their San Francisco shop, because nothing says “hello, sunshine” like rosé, revelry, and celebrating in style! And guess what? Malia Mills herself will be in the house. Come for the vibes, stay for the community, and if you’re feeling bold, get a fitting with the queen of fit herself (totally optional, highly encouraged!).

Where: Malia Mills, 3600 Sacramento St
When: Tuesday, March 25th, 2–7 PM

Let’s raise a glass to spring, style, and a little bit of sass, see you there!

Good morning or afternoon, depending on how much you have already done w your day.

So we are finally standing in the heart of San Francisco, in a historic building that has seen generations of change, resilience, and reinvention. We are surrounded by North Beach, Jackson Square, and Chinatown neighborhoods rich with stories of immigrants, dreamers, and builders. And just across the corner, the Transamerica Pyramid rises above us, a symbol of vision, strength, and perseverance. It’s the perfect metaphor for what we’re doing here today.
This pop-up is more than just a marketplace, it’s a testament to the resilience of small business owners. Each of us has faced incredible challenges, but we’re still here, pushing forward, creating, innovating. Because we know that when one of us does well, we all do well. That collaboration, not competition, is the true key to success.
And what better time to come together than now? San Francisco is stepping into a new Renaissance or as I would say according to Taylor, Swift “era” of art, design, small business, and, most importantly, safety. The world has questioned this city, but we know its beauty, its potential, and its heartbeat. Now, it’s time for the world to see it too.
So let’s make the most of today. Let’s celebrate creativity, community, and the incredible energy that happens when passionate people come together. Thank you for being part of this moment, and here’s to the success of everyone in this room!!! Oh and tomorrow night, let’s throw a party people will remember and want to spread the word
