Growing up in the beautiful city of Chennai, which is located in the South of India, I was exposed to some of the most beautiful pieces of art as a child. The large Hindu temples that towered over me were beautifully studded with the pantheon of Hindu Gods, Goddesses and monsters of various shapes and sizes. Thus began my artistic journey. After graduating high school at the age of 16, I knew what
I was meant to do. Create art. I began my under graduation in Visual Art, Stella Maris College, Chennai- India, where I learnt how to make jewelry, print patterns on textile, and recreate paintings of Indian antiquity. Finally, after three fruitful educative years, I was introduced to Graphic design and Advertising, and, almost instantaneously, I fell in love with beautiful Typography, Digital design and the art of Photography. I wanted to specialize in Graphic Design and explore this field that was unknown to me. I was able to do this when I got accepted at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Coming to the Academy was a dream come true as life now offered me an all-you-can-eat buffet of art, culture, adventure and life experiences. In my few months living in colorful San Francisco, I have not only grown in maturity, but I have also developed international artistic sensibilities and aesthetics. My mind has now been opened to the world, and, like a sponge, I wish to absorb as much as I possibly can. I want to bring to graphic design the things that make me βMEββ My rich familial traditions as well as my cultural traditions that are deeply rooted in the tribal folklore and folk art of India. I am a bold, assertive and opinionated graphic designer who lives in San Francisco. Follow my work on instagram: neha_graphicdesigner for daily updates.
