Our platform is a celebration of circularity, loving the clothes that we wear, and putting love into the way our clothes are made in the first place. That helps keep clothing and textile waste out of landfills, from being burned, and from winding up in waterways, along with other nasty ways textile waste is commonly disposed of. With open closet alongside our zero waste process of making clothes out of waste disposed of by larger factories, we now focus on both pre- and post-consumer waste. On open closet, you can find pre-loved tonlé items alongside a selection of curated vintage, and "re-imagined" items - those that have been upcycled by our growing network of independent artists and makers. We plan to continue expanding this in the coming months. Thank you for supporting us while we've been figuring all of this out as it's certainly been a journey to figure out the next steps for our business in an era of constant change and uncertainty.
Pictures are of .artbygeorge looking fab in front of some giant trucks by a warehouse in Denver, Colorado on Ute, Arapaho and Cheyenne land. This land was previously a landfill that was covered up and filled in and then built on top of, boarding on what is now called Commerce City. It feels like a "wasteland" but trees and plants and nature defy the odds and grow up from the cracks of the concrete.
