Question: This week’s mystery athlete centered one of the most dominant lines in hockey history — the legendary KLM Line with Vladimir Krutov and Sergei Makarov, which terrorized Soviet and international hockey through the 1980s. Off the ice, he was a rebel: he publicly defied the Soviet hockey machine with an open letter in Ogonyok magazine, calling out coach Viktor Tikhonov for keeping players locked in army barracks up to 11 months a year.
-
Hint: The team that drafted him in the 11th round had to wait four years for Soviet authorities to release him before he finally debuted at age 29.

No official Hometown Remix reveal yet, but teams keep dropping hints everywhere.

Pant shells, practice jerseys, goalie gear. New Habs and Oilers logos, Wild logo right on a mask, Oilers goalie in all black, Jets goalie with light blue in his pads, Nashville practice numbers look totally different.

Look close in these photos and you can start piecing the jerseys together.

A couple of standouts for me are the canes, Sabres and Kraken.

So I need to hear it from you guys:
1. Which logo is an instant buy for you?
2. Which team are you most hyped to see the full jersey for?
3. Give me your Top 3 from this board šŸ‘‡

This week’s mystery athlete is none other than Kimmo Timonen. At age 39, blood clots in his leg and both lungs nearly ended his career and cost him the first 62 games of the season. He was drafted 250th overall in the 10th round and ended up as the last active player from his entire draft class — then won the Stanley Cup in the final game of his 20-year career, with Jonathan Toews handing him the Cup first.

Question: This week’s mystery athlete nearly never got his storybook ending — at age 39, blood clots in his leg and both lungs put his career in jeopardy and cost him the first 62 games of the season. He finally won the Stanley Cup in the last game of his 20-year career, and the captain handed him the Cup first during the celebration.
-
Hint: He was drafted 250th overall in the 10th round, and ended up as the last active player remaining from his entire draft class.

Winnipeg will wear this white sweater for the 2026 NHL Heritage Classic on October 25 against the Canadiens at Princess Auto Stadium, the franchise’s first outdoor game since 2019. The design is a direct homage to the club’s classic look of the 1980s and ā€˜90s — white to complement the navy heritage alternate they already wear, giving them a matching dark-and-white throwback pairing. The round vintage crest from the 1979 era is rendered in felt with chain-stitched detailing, and the back numbers carry the same two-layer felt treatment. The hidden touches: an all-new streaking jet graphic framing the event name along the hem, ā€œHonour the Pastā€ scripted inside the back collar, and a loop label replicating the jet-in-a-circle mark from the team’s pants.
-
What I like: the ā€˜79 roundel has always been my favorite Jets identity, and I’ve never warmed to the modern home and away set since the team returned to Winnipeg — this is the look they should be wearing full time. The chain-stitched felt crest is the centerpiece, and it elevates the entire sweater.
-
What I don’t like: this is a near-exact rerun of the jersey they wore a decade ago, and at some point it stops being heritage and starts being lazy. My one standing gripe is the captaincy patches — red instead of navy, they stick out in all the wrong ways on this look.

Montreal will wear this sweater for the 2026 NHL Heritage Classic on October 25 in Winnipeg, the franchise’s first outdoor game since 2017. The design pulls from across the team’s jersey history — classic red and blue, but with a vintage off-white replacing standard white and a wool-style collar for a genuine old-school feel. The CH crest has been redrawn to echo past versions and rendered in felt with running-stitch detailing. The finishing touches: ā€œLes Habitantsā€ stitched into the back collar for the first time, a nod to the franchise nickname, and a fleur-de-lis on the loop label honoring Quebec.
-
What I like: this is basically a slight revamp of the TBTC jerseys from the 91-92 season, and it works. The detailing on the felt crest is a great touch. They also changed up the number font — the traditional block numbers are gone in favor of something a little more artistic, which I really like. Overall, it’s a clean, sharp jersey.
-
What I don’t like: this isn’t really a new design, it’s a recycled past look. The Canadiens rarely take risks when it comes to special edition jerseys, so I’m not surprised — but I’d like to see them get a little creative for once.

This week’s mystery athlete is none other than Cristobal Huet, the netminder who just vanished into thin air. He won the Stanley Cup in 2010 starting in 46 of those games that season, then was shipped to Switzerland in a salary-cap move and never played in the NHL again.

Question: This week’s mystery athlete became a goaltender completely by accident — his youth team back home in France simply didn’t have one, so he strapped on the pads and never took them off. Years later, he was traded at the deadline by a team sitting first in its conference, just so they could hand the crease to a 20-year-old rookie who goes by the name of Carey Price.
-
Hint: He took the starting job from a franchise legend and won his final nine starts to drag his new team into the playoffs.
