And this is what freedom looks like, after a life of trauma. We’re proud to support this life saving work - every purchase from our site makes a difference for elephants in Thailand and Kenya. ❤️🐘❤️

Repost : Every rescued elephant carries a story within them.

A story of loss, hardship, and trauma from years of being forced into submission—pain they cannot put into words.

Kham Tan is a mother elephant who once gave birth to three calves, yet never had the chance to raise any of them. Each baby was taken away from her. We cannot imagine the depth of that heartbreak.

Today, her greatest comfort is friendship.

Now she has Apple, a young female elephant about the same age as Kham Tan’s first calf. Apple came from a riding camp in Kanchanaburi. She was separated from her own mother at a very young age and forced to work on the streets. No one knows where her mother is today.

When we first met both Kham Tan and Apple, what we saw in their eyes was emptiness.

Though they were rescued from different places and at different times, fate brought them together here. In their new home, they have become unlikely friends—comforting one another, sharing their pain, and slowly healing together.

No one understands an elephant better than another elephant.

Having companionship, love, and the support of their own kind is one of the most powerful ways for elephants to heal from trauma.

At Elephant Nature Park, we strongly believe in their right to live naturally:

Let elephants be a herd.
Let elephants be elephants

In case you haven’t met Bumpy yet … 😍

Repost : Skip, splash, and snuggle through Bumpy’s first days with us.

This little hippo was rescued by the Kenya Wildlife Service over the weekend, after his mother died — likely defending her baby’s life in a territorial fight. Bumpy remained huddled by her body until help arrived.

Now, Bumpy has a family with us and a wild future ahead. Become part of his journey and support his round-the-clock care through an adoption: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/bumpy

The heartwarming relationship between Thong Ae and ❤️

Repost : Many of you may have noticed—and wondered—why Lek is often seen wearing only one boot when she is with the elephants.

The reason is “butterfly girl” Thong Ae. Whenever Thong Ae sees her beloved “mother,” she walks straight over and gently uses her trunk to pull off at least one of her boots—sometimes both, and even her socks—so her feet can touch the ground.

We believe Thong Ae does this because she wants Lek to walk barefoot, just as she does, allowing her to feel the earth beneath her feet. Many people share a belief known as grounding—the idea that direct contact with the earth may help balance the body’s internal electrical system.

Thong Ae doesn’t do this with everyone. She only does it with those she loves and feels close to. What Thong Ae does—and what she may be trying to communicate to those she loves—is truly touching and beautiful.

It is yet another example of natural elephant behaviour—adorable, awe-inspiring, and an invitation for us to deepen our understanding of these remarkable animals. 🐘💚

Friday fun with the elephants 😊 Every purchase from our shop directly supports elephant conservation work in Kenya & Thailand!

Repost : Even for Kipekee, this is next-level! Our small spoiled girl crowns herself the princess of every corner she trundles across. Today, she decided to give herself a nice little throne atop Mzinga. Our nanny-with-a-heart-of-gold didn’t even blink an eye — she was just happy to have Kipekee time!

You can become part of Kipekee’s journey through an adoption. Your donation helps fund the round-the-clock each orphan needs to thrive — milk bottles, Keeper care, and more.

Sharing some peace and tranquillity your way, compliments of the herd - volume up!

Repost : In a world filled with chaos, shaped by human actions against one another, peace and tranquility can feel far away.

Yet in the animal world, there is a different rhythm—one of peace, simplicity, and honesty. A world without pretense, deception, or harm.

Perhaps what can bring us true inner happiness, even for a moment, is to quiet our minds and follow the gentle, beautiful lives of elephants.

This is a herd of elephants at Elephant Nature Park, seen from above on the Skywalk. As you listen to their conversations, you may hear soft, tender sounds that bring a smile to your face.

Be still.
Be calm.
And listen to the elephants.
