Headed north this week to get a look after the storms. Happy to say that the rain drenched the rolling hills and only took one tree from us. And much to the surprise brought some serious design inspiration once cut that baby up. It was a pine, which will take a year or so to cure but once it’s dry the smell of pine lofting from the fireplace will be dreamy.

This year is off to a crazy weird start, huh?
Are you feeling us?
We packed up and moved the product and some tables
up to San Luis.
We sorted and packed up the rest of the furniture and display pieces and created the new workshop
space in Long Beach.
In the Spring we will move it outdoors,
but for now it feels right and feels warm, indoors.
Using the familiar tables, lamps and plants has helped us transition and stay inspired.

The Hangout is definitely drifting through the universe awaiting it's assent. A lot of feeling happening over here.

We are leaning hard into the workshop thing right now.
The workshops were always our way of staying connected to our artist & also the way we built new community.

We have filled the calendar for the next month in Long Beach and in Slo.

January Workshops

We are still here Long Beach &
psst... we have an announcement SLO!

The Hangout is proud to announce that we will continue to bring community and artists together in both locations!

The workshops have been a very rewarding offering for us at the 4th Street LB location. We have seen artists bloom in front of an audience. We have seen creative energy fly during our art sessions. We have seen souls nourished during our self care classes.

We have felt the love all around in so many ways and we will not let that go to the wayside. We will continue this work for our soul, and yours. As we all drift around in this big fish bowl, we feel it is important to connect to people and creativity any way we can.

We have seen such a beautiful community gathering for the workshops and feel that it is meant to live on, and to expand. We are continuing our workshops in Long Beach.
..and we will be kicking off our SLO workshops in 2024!

We are so excited to present January workshops for both locations.

2023 has been a year of change for us here at the Hangout. Some good, some amazing, some very hard. With great hope in our wings and gratefulness in our hearts,
we leap forward into 2024..

Forward into soft spaces that we wholeheartedly believe in the concept of, hard places we are scared to venture into at times. Change has always been a part of our MO. We kept ya guessing didn't we?

We were deeply committed at our Long Beach location to always offer something new, inviting and inspiring. We always tried to stay ahead of the curves. We always wanted to offer an experience like no other. We really hope we did!

Please know that we are endlessly grateful for the memories we have gathered with all of you over the past 5.5 years. We hold each of those moments close and dear to our hearts, Long Beach.

And, please know that it is with this warmth we forge forward with these memories in our hearts. Know that every moment we shared...every smile and kind word has been engraved into our souls. Nothing forgotten and nothing taken for granted. Our experiences in Long Beach have inspired us to go further and change as we internally needed to inorder for each of us to continue our paths at full speed.
We all needed a bit more room than our space could allow to spread our wings, shake off the dust and reform into the next chapter of our lives.

We will be always be here for you if you need us. Always. In one capacity or another!
Jhoanna of Bel Canto will be right down the block with her new bookstore opening in the spring.
Tanya of Golden Garden will be just an IG message away. Steph of HOR is just now coming into her own and has lots of great news on the way (besides the beautiful twins she made this year!!!). Mel will continue to host workshops...retreats & events and do as much as she can to support and grow the creative minds around her with her new location in San Luis Obispo.

STAY TUNED as you have earned a place in the paths of each of us and are with us every step of the way,
in our hearts, and in our minds.

Had a good week…found a space & opened a new store location in Slo, saw Brian Jonestown (f’n amazing), fed the chickens, grew some eggplant, decorated for Halloween, found a giant tarantula in the pool. How was your week?
