Quirky Kid Handmade started as a form of self care and turned into a passion project. Creating this slow fashion brand has been such an exciting adventure.

Welcome to Quirky Kid Handmade! Here you’ll find fun prints and comfy styles 💜 my love of sewing starting back in 9th grade when I decided I wanted to learn how to make cosplays. YouTube university set me on a path of creating clothes with my mom’s old sewing machine. A few years later I would find myself moving to Los Angeles and studying fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. I quickly learned that the fashion industry wasn’t for me, and that was okay. I learned many skills I still utilize now.

A few years went by, I moved back to the central coast and I ended up having my daughter. I started making her clothes and someone encouraged me to try selling them. I picked a name, made a logo and just started. Ive been through so much trial and error in this business but it’s been a wonderful ride. Here’s to the next chapter of Quirky Kid Handmade!

June events!! I’m am so excited to participate in pride events this year!!

I’ll be Atascadero Lake Park with on Sunday June 14th from 10-5pm!

Between June 15-June 22 I’ll be honoring 31% off custom orders! Feel free to chat about them ahead of time! The website is still down while I am making adjustments (you may have noticed that cute new logo!)

And Saturday June 27 I’ll be at the mission plaza in SLO for Pride in the plaza!! 10-5pm

It’s a busy April for Quirky Kid! I have 3 events all happening in Atascadero throughout the month. Testing is wrapping up for a few women’s items so you may start to see them appear at these markets 🥳

So I may have a mild obsession with but it’s led to some really fun and creative makes. Last weekend I got to take Winnie to go see the Twenty One Pilots concert movie and I made her a pair of overalls with the custom fabric I designed to make my overalls from when I saw them in concert back in October. So now we have matching overalls and we had such a fun time!

Turning this one into a post for the grid 💜 Winnie’s 5th birthday outfit was so fun! I found this fabric for her and she said she wanted a dress to her ankles. It’s so fun now that she can give me input, but also that she so often will choose things I’ve made her. 💜 I made the mesh undershirt as well.

New customs I’ve made in 2026 💜 this year I’m getting back in touch with the beginning of Quirky Kid. When I first started I bought mystery scrap boxes for the fun variety and to use what would otherwise be considered waste. I initially only wanted to use polyester if it was secondhand, but then I learned about the world of custom printing and polyester was what was readily available.

All this to say, last year I found a wonderful fabric printer that can print on cotton and bamboo! It’s excellent quality and I’ve been testing it behind the scenes on clothing for my daughter. Moving forward the choice will still be yours to have your customs in poly based or natural fibers (because there is a cost difference and I aim for affordability).

These four pieces are the first of many in 2026.
1. A long sleeve raglan tee made with a fabric scrap and on hand cotton spandex.
2. Lettuce hem bell bottoms made form a fabric scrap.
3/4/5. A set made from high quality custom printed cotton Lycra.
