Dragging my feet. I should be hustling to pack this place up - but I’m dragging my feet. So I’ll just sit here and and look at all the s**t that still needs to be done. But I’ll get there eventually. Maybe in the meantime I should drop a new discount to help move some these clothes - or I can hoard them for myself (and the boys). A more current update on why I’ve decided to close now. About a year ago, on one of my yearly scans, we noticed the cancer was back. So like before, I went to work - fighting to get healthy. But recently my update showed the cancer had grown and we need to step the game up to stay ahead of it. So why close now? Well that’s complicated - with leases and buildouts, with employees, and the hunt for them, the timing seemed right. Throw into it it that I have other projects in my life and it seems to be the right choice. Not that it was an easy decision. I feel sad to let down a group of people who’ve relied on us - not just for clothing - but for a place to come sit on the couch and work through some s**t (a core tenant of OH). It’s been cathartic for me have you in the shop, talk with you on the phone or to communicate with you via DM or email. Thank you for letting me be of service, it’s been a great pleasure and one I am so grateful for.

A classic even by our standards - the fatigue pant by Tellason has been a shop favorite since day one. Four years of slinging the best pants for an indigo heavy top wardrobe (you can’t always go denim on denim unless your ). A little back story on the formation of OH. In 2016 I moved back to the central coast after 15+ years in the Bay Area. Within a few months of moving in and getting settled, I was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately I had friends at Stanford so I went to work fighting to get healthy and a little less than a year later I was given a clear bill of health. It was a lonely time living in a community as a “new person” and I didn’t have the extended circle of friends here that I needed to help me through all that. An idea sprung up - I could open a shop downtown, sell something that was needed, and meet cool, amazing people in the shop and by being a part of the downtown community. So in early 2018 we opened with that as my plan, and I am proud to say we achieved it.

I suppose it’s fitting that our final release at OH is from a brand that has supported us and been there since day one. More than a customer/vendor relationship, the 3Sixteen crew (and extended 3:16 family) have been friends - which isn’t something I throw around willly-nilly. From BBQ pork belly in NYC to long conversations about the up and coming premier league stars - from conversations about clothes, to loosing a loved one. These guys are the real ones for sure and I’m so happy to have represented them the last 4 years.

As we coast into our last full week at the shop - figured it was fitting to take some time to remember where we started. Our Opening Day August 1 2018. I can still remember how excited I was but a little worried - “Would people get this? Would they get me and what I’m trying to do here? Well this one is a long time coming. We worked with friend of the shop, Jason Hout to design something reminiscent of my youth, a throwback to the “Jimmy’z, Santa Cruz, Ocean Pacific” vibes of the 80s & 90s. We feel he did a great job. But after a local screen printer dropped the ball and sat on the project for months we had to pick up and start from scratch. Fortunately Providence screen printing hoped on it. Timing wise it seems to have worked out well. As we wrap up the last days of the shop and ride in to the sunset - the OH shop tee hits the mark. We hope you enjoy it. Made in limited quantities, we ran these for the deep OH family - the ones who’ve been there since day one or spent time with us over the last 4 years. Our say of saying ✌🏼 💙

It’s a dark day at the house of OH. After a rough couple of weeks, we’ve made the difficult decision to close up the shop. As some of you may know, I’ve been dealing with some health issues (for those that don’t know - I’ll talk a little more about this in the coming weeks) and recently my health has taken a turn. This decision was not made lightly as OH has been a sanctuary, an outlet, a meet-up spot, your spot for the denim, tees, and jackets you didn’t know you needed. It’s been my introduction to a whole host of new friends and I’m sad to say goodbye to it - but my health and well being take precedence. It’s not immediate as the next month we’ll be on our farewell tour but wanted to let you know as soon as the decision was made.
Just want to say “Thank you” sincerely from the bottom of my heart I couldn’t have asked for more. I appreciate each and every person that’s crossed through - I appreciate you.
