Life Is Cozy modern knitting patterns and tutorials Knitting has always been very special for me. I knit to relax & express my creativity.

It makes me happy to know that my tutorials and patterns help people to discover new dimensions of knitting. This is my main source of motivation. I always try to design items that I can wear myself. Experiments with colors, forms, and patterns don't allow my passion to fade. I find inspiration and ideas in travels, in movies, and in walks along the streets of San Francisco.

If you were waiting for a sign to get one of our handdyed bags, this is the sign!
I am down to the last 19, and once they are gone, they are gone. These bags were a labor of love and incredibly labor-intensive to make, so we are not going to make another batch 🙃

The bags are included in both the Gift Set and the Deluxe Gift Set with One Skein Knitting book!
Here are the specs:
- Ice-dyed in small batches, so each one is completely unique.
- Made from 10 oz. cotton duck canvas
- Lined with cotton muslin and has two pockets!
- Golden logo on the front
- Approximately 12” tall x 10” wide with 16” handles, a perfect shoulder bag

✨ ONE SKEIN KNITTING KAL ✨
September 1st – October 31st

Now that my book is officially out in the world, I thought the best way to celebrate it would be to knit together 💛

For the next two months, I’m hosting the One Skein Knitting Knit-Along, and you can join by knitting any of the 18 patterns from the book. Choose the project that speaks to you, get out that special skein you’ve been saving, and let’s knit together!

To participate, simply finish your project by October 31st and share it on Instagram using , or post it in the dedicated One Skein Knitting KAL thread on Ravelry. And if you find yourself wanting to make more than one project... well, I am certainly not going to stop you 😏 The more projects you finish, the more chances you’ll have to win!

There will be lots of lovely prizes along the way, including gift cards from some of your favorite yarn companies and shops, with sponsors including Aimée Gille | La Bien Aimée , Thread and Maple , Felicia from SweetGeorgia ✨ and more. I’ll be announcing and spotlighting our wonderful sponsors throughout the KAL, and I’m so excited to introduce you to everyone who is helping make this celebration extra special 💛

I am debating between two projects myself, both using Amy Small yarn: Gypsophila Shawl in this gorgeous red Spun Cloud Light, or a two-color variation of Olallieberry Cowl in Serenity and Mixtape. That Mixtape color is called Vintage Malibu Barbie, I mean, yes please!

Thank you everyone for coming to celebrate the publication day yesterday at Avenue Yarns 💛 All the hugs, all the laughs - I treasure every one of them!

It’s Publication Day! 🧡
One Skein Knitting, my first book, is now officially out in the world!

There’s 18 new patterns: 5 shawls, 4 cowls, 3 scarves, 2 pairs of each mittens and socks, 1 hat and 1 headband, and all the pattern pages are now up on Ravelry 💛

I’m overwhelmed and excited, and still can’t truly believe this is happening. Thank uiu to my amazing publishing team at David and Charles for believing I could do it before I did! Apparently I can 😅

I hope to see a lot of you during the Bay Area events for the publication week (the post with details is pinned at the top of my grid), or at all the fun festivals this fall. Hugs incoming!

Couldn’t not dedicate another post to Koa Shawl, especially seeing how warmly you are receiving it 💖

Sometimes designing is not straightforward and takes multiple trials and errors to get a piece that feels just right. This was not the case with Koa! I almost instantly knew what project (a shawl), what shape (my favorite V), and which stitch patterns I wanted to use (feather-and-fan, mini nupps, a bit of garter, simple lace). And it was such a delight when all these plans worked out from the first try!

Looking for some color-combining inspiration? My wonderful testers have created some gorgeous projects, and Eva Seismic Yarn has come up with beautiful kits. I will be sharing these in stories 💕

You heard me right, amazing explorewithgrace_sf is going to help us make these books even more special and one-of-a-kind with miniature rhinestones 💕 This is going to be a magical night!

And in other exciting news, today we’re just a week from the One Skein Knitting celebration at Uncommon Threads 💕

Please join us on Thursday, August 27th, 4-7pm! I’m bringing all the book samples so that you can feel them and try them on, and there will be a few more that Stephanie has been whipping up with the loveliest in-store yarns - seeing those variations of the same patterns is always so exciting!

I will be bringing special yarn and goodies, too, including some of those covered one-of-a-kind bags 😏 And, of course, that would be a perfect time to get your copies of One Skein Knitting signed.

A huge part of what I do is only possible because of this wonderful knitting community. Getting to see some of you in person, talk about knitting, and give real hugs is the most special part of it all 💕

She’s here! Please welcome Koa Shawl 💕
This project was a delight from start to finish. Once I got my hands on a gorgeous skein of Daydream from Seismic Yarn , I knew exactly what I wanted it to become.

And so Koa Shawl came to be perfect for pairing a quiet colorway with a companion full of character. My signature V-shaped construction and alternating stitch patterns offer the perfect “just one more row” knitting experience, and with just two skeins of yarn you get an elegant, generously sized, and easy-to-wear shawl 💕

Just a week before the One Skein Knitting launch parties start! The first one will be at Avenue Yarns 💕

- trunk show with all 18 book samples (including the ones on this photo!)
- a curated selection of delicious single skeins by Avenue that I will be happy to help you match with the patterns

The happenings in the studio - aside from all the book fun!
Plans for the week:
- Pattern release for the lovely Koa Shawl is this Thursday, August 20th! I know a few of you are waiting (im)patiently for it, so mark your calendars 💕
Eva Seismic Yarn will have kits!
- I hope to do a proper wet blocking and finish grading of the Cuore Poncho I designed for Blick Art Materials . Call for testknitters coming soon!
- The Cyclamen Mini Scarf in Spincycle Yarns has been such a joy! My sample is almost finished, and I hope to get the pattern ready for testing by the end of the week (famous last words 😅)

I will be posting the in-person book signing events details over the next few days and can’t wait to share all the special little things we are plotting for you!
