Sorry I’ve been quiet life has been busy ... but there’s always time for a little fun!

The next artist we did was studying the style of painting he used called . We learnt that suerat painting with thousands of tiny dots of color. Choosing to mix colours on the canvas rather than before. Therefore infact causing our eyes to mix the colours. We looked at his most famous work . Which was 10x7feet. Took over two years to paint and has over 3million dots ! Needless to say I had to remind the kiddos of that when they were “dotting”their own projects ! It’s hard making lots of dots😁

Last weeks class was we learnt about and how Claude Monet was amoung one of the first artists who painted outside. They painted their of what they saw.... they had to work quickly capturing the moment hence the quick .... you could really feel the moment they felt when painting these images.

were the subject of a lot of his paints . We did our of his art using two , paint and collage. We also used two sponges and paint brushes . The end result was a beautiful dimensional piece of art. The kids thoroughly enjoyed creating the depth and movement in their water working with sponges and paint brushes to create depth .

This weeks art class was all about the great inventor
The kids learnt about creating contrasts using light and dark, they learnt about water color techniques, about asking what and why and studying a subject and of course they learnt about Leonardo himself. Did you know he discovered heart was made of two chambers and if his journals had been found earlier than they had it would have changed the shape of modern medicine! Another fun fact - he hired Grave diggers to dig up bodies to perform his studies of the human body and form on cadavers!😳😳😳😳 (didn’t tell the kids that story 😜)

After watercolor painting our we made gold ornate frames just like the real one, as was the norm in Renaissance art period.

It was a lot of fun and turned out great!
