There are moments that truly remind you how special this community is, and this week was one of them 🤍
A couple nights ago, something small could have turned into something devastating. Someone had unknowingly emptied hot to***co remains into our whiskey barrel flower pot, and hours later, it began to smolder and catch fire in the early morning.
By nothing short of luck, or maybe something more, Bo happened to be walking by just after 2:00 AM when it ignited. Without hesitation, he jumped in to help, doing everything he could to stomp it out and even running to the gas station to grab water. It wasn’t perfect, but it was selfless, and it mattered more than he probably knows.
A few hours later, our incredible neighbors at Bleeding Hearts Tattoo Emporium, Jon and Erika Bates, stepped in without a second thought. Bucket after bucket of water, side by side with the fire department, making sure everything was fully out and safe.
We’ve replayed this over and over, and the truth is… our entire building could have been severely impacted. This could have been a completely different story.
Instead, it’s one about people.
About Bo, who showed up in the exact right moment. About Jon and Erika, who didn’t hesitate to act. About a community that looks out for one another.
We are incredibly grateful, and incredibly lucky.
And maybe it’s also a reminder… something as small as not fully putting something out can turn into something much bigger than we ever expect.
Sandpoint, we’re really proud to call this place home 🤍
