Recently, I realized that in most of my posts and reels, all you usually see are my hands and sometimes the sweatshirt I am wearing that day. So, I figured it was time to properly introduce myself - my name is Christine and I am the maker behind Riveted Leatherworks, LLC. 💼

You may remember one of my recent posts about how the name “Riveted Leatherworks” came into being. I mentioned that the leather treat pouch was my very first product that I ever made in conjunction with a horse trainer I work with to learn how to train my two horses in liberty horsemanship.

Well, these are my two horses. Oakley is the horse on the left (the one with the mustache) and Cyrus is the one on the right. I’ve had Oakley for about 5 years and Cyrus coming up on 10 years!

One of my favorite things about having a home-based workshop for my leather business is that Oakley and Cyrus live right here with us in our backyard. So, while I’m working away on leather projects, I also get to look out the workshop window and watch them throughout the day! 🪟🐴

When placing an order, if you select “local pick-up” you’ll have the chance to meet Oakley and Cyrus, or at least the chance to wave “hello!” 👋

Every strap tells a story.

With over 40 paint colors, 8 stitching colors, 4 hardware finishes, and a variety of graphic options available, the customization possibilities are nearly endless!

Stitching holes… 🧵

I like using slightly larger stitching holes when I prep these little zipper card wallets for hand sewing. It gives the finished piece that casual old school leather look with the chunky stitching that only gets better with age.

Once the waxed thread is saddle stitched through each hole, it locks into itself stitch by stitch. This keeps the stitching strong for lots of use.🪡
