Yesterday our sweet queen Dixie turned FIFTEEN years old. 15!!!
We didn’t post because we made the executive decision that social media could wait,but birthday snuggles could not. We spent every waking moment loving on our girl. She had the coziest day ever, special treats, extra snacks (don’t tell her vet), and an unreasonable amount of kisses from me, her dad, and her siblings.
It was the perfect cozy day… which ended with snow flurries.
Which, for the record, Dixie did NOT approve of. She does not support being cold. She does not support being wet. She barely supports going outside in general unless sunshine is involved.
Fifteen years with this sweet soul is something I don’t take lightly. She’s been my constant, my shadow, my heart with paws. So in honor of our birthday girl turning 15, we’re celebrating the only way we know how…

Y’ALL. Today Sweet Dixie’s Burnt Elegance had a very unexpected run in with none other than Sandy's Green Grouch himself. And let me tell you….he was NOT thrilled about it.
But after some convincing (and maybe a bribe of a cookie or twelve), he agreed to take photos in my hats. Was he happy? Absolutely not. Did he look hilarious? You bet your Christmas cookies he did.
Make sure you scroll to the last picture....I MADE HIM HIS VERY OWN GRINCH HAT. Lights and all. It’s the most detailed, intricate hat I’ve ever created, and honestly? I think even he was impressed….though he’d never admit it.
All the hats he begrudgingly modeled are for sale, EXCEPT the Grinch hat. That one is his forever. DM me if you want to snag one of these beauties just in time for the holidays!

Know someone who is peacock obsessed? Y’all…. gather ‘round, because this is the hat of all hats. I’m talking main character energy, don’t look directly at it or you’ll fall in love levels of hat greatness.
I found these sparkly little gems and immediately said, “Yep. Mine.” Then my friend Jenny over at Top Family farm (yes, the one with the actual peacocks strutting around like royalty) said, “Add blue sequins to the peacock’s body.” And y’all…. she was RIGHT. This hat now has more drama than a reality TV reunion episode.
I honestly don’t know if you want to wear this masterpiece or put it on display in a glass case like it’s the crown jewels. Either way, if you know someone who is peacock-obsessed, this hat will speak to their soul.
