I didn’t get much quilting done this past weekend but I did get to spend it at a triathlon race for my husband in Burley Idaho where my daughter caught this beautiful sunrise over the Snake River. My husband’s victory... he came within 3 minutes of his goal time. My victory... I survived camping out with 2 kids and a puppy and now have the faintest tan line. 😆

I am so excited to join in with . I thought I would just watch until I saw Lella Boutique’s blocks. So I caved and am excited to get started. I am late to the party and won’t keep up but I can’t wait to try new blocks and stretch my skills!

Life brings lots of twists and turns. Some good, some exciting and some hard. Recently my mom passed away far too soon and quickly. We are never ready to lose our loved ones. As I reflect upon my her life I will cherish her friendship, her love and her patience. In times of discouragement I will remember her strength and her determination. As a mother of 3 ( and her a mother of 6... 5 of which we’re boys 😜) I will seek her advice by asking myself “what would mom do?”. While everyday life goes on my heart still aches. I finished this quilt for her a few weeks before her passing. She loved Christmas! She had what we affectionately called the ‘Christmas Room’ where she had Christmas decorations up all year. While I don’t have a Christmas room I think I will leave this out all year.

From my family to yours Happy 4th of July! I am grateful for this great country we live in and for the men, women, and families who have and continue to sacrifice for our freedom. I have loved seeing all the patriotic quilts and banners and table runners people have shared. I hope next year to be able to join in. 🤗

Yeah binding!!! The one on the left is Berry Merry for the quilt I was supposed to have done for Christmas and didn’t finish in time (at least we are making progress in January and not waiting until next December 😂) and the grunge on the right is for a vintage bike blanket I am super excited about (and so is my husband)!

Finished the hand binding on 3 blankets. Yeah!!! Feels so good to finish projects but I have to say I am sad I don’t have anything to hand bind right now. 😜

I have wanted to make stockings for my family for so long and this year it finally got done (but other things didn’t ... it was worth it though 😂). I came across a tutorial by and used her Basic Christmas Stocking pattern and loved how they turned out. I love the line by and thought the blues would be perfect for the boys! Wishing a Merry Christmas to everyone!
