I feel so lost without you. For the past 11+ years you have literally been by my side and loosing you last Friday has placed a huge hole in my heart. I adopted you because of your incredible story, because you’re a survivor. You were found in the Everglades on the side of the road, hit by a car, lying there for days for someone to rescue you. Even with both back legs shattered, you tried to crawl when you saw help. Both of your back legs required surgeries to rebuild- they nicknamed you bionic dog! Your surgeon gifted you an orange ball that became your security blanket and you were never without. (I learned to stock up on extras!) I promised to be your forever home and that’s the only solice I find sometimes now in this pain. That I fulfilled that commitment to you. You deserved that and so much more! You were truly my companion for years before I met Phil. My running partner, my brunch date, my snuggle buddy! You watched me grow into a wife and mother. You accepted each new role into our lives with such love and grace. There was not one single mean bone in your body. Your handsome face and soft furry ears that felt like a rabbits fur will always be my favorite. And that you would tilt your head back and howl like a wild every time a fire truck went by and we lived across the street from a fire station for 5 years! Haha! 😂 I was a fur mommy before I was a human mommy and I will forever love being your mom here on earth, I thank God for allowing me to care for you and right some wrongs done to you. The morning you left me, a a small slice of rainbow 🌈 appeared above our house. It was 7am, blue skies, and only above our house. Antonio was even questioning it, it looked so oddly beautiful. I didn’t realize this till later that night. I remembered the poem Rainbow Bridge and told Phil we should use that to help explain where Tigger went. That night when we told Antonio, before we could even explain about Rainbow Bridge, he turned to me and said: Mommy! The rainbow we saw this morning over the house, the angels must have came down it to get Tigger and bring him to heaven! 🥹🤍
