KONA BOWL - April 1978, Skateboard World Mag.

“To the locals, it’s a spot that can be ripped daily. It’s radically, vertical walls and protruding coping have long since been wired in the pool has become a testing area for the locals to expand their limits.

The Kona Bowl is a standard kidney shape, about 10 feet deep, with considerable vertical all around. The coping is large and juts out precariously. The transition to the vertical in the deep is quite abrupt, while surprisingly, the shallow is workable as deep as the steps.

A group of hard-core locals or “ Kona Boys” as they are referred to, have hot-wired the pool to max extremes.”
