ess magazine covers and spreads to his name. After spending years as a senior photographer at TransWorld Surf Magazine, Dave now shoots freelance for domestic and international publications. Major action sports brands such as Vans, O’Neill, Fox, and Reef commonly contract Dave to shoot on location for trips locally and abroad. As one of the best action water photographers in the world, he commonly finds himself in the right place at the right time to produce stunning images. Dave’s personal relationships and mutual respect with some of the most elite athletes in the world gives him access to the best action at the best locations. Dave’s dedication to surfing and skateboarding is matched by his values as a person. A true family man, Dave cares about is daughter and wife above all and is devoted to his community of Santa Cruz. A consummate role model for young athletes coming out of his hometown, Dave has helped pave the way for some of the best young talent in the surfing world.

One crazy day at Pescadero Point (Ghost Tree)
I was with the Smith Brothers
and
& they wanted a piece of this massive swell!
On the way down Russ cracked about
50 - one liners and had me crying I was laughing so hard.
Tai was more stoic and had riding a 100 footer on his mind.
The swell was Giant!, but right when they hit the lineup the South Wind tore through the lineup with a fury. I thought it was done, but Tyler was still psyched and he towed into this 60’ footer before getting annihilated and almost going into the rocks.
I often think about what woulda happened if it didn’t blow out, cuz I saw the biggest waves I’ve ever seen that day!

Pure radness yesterday morning with Humpbacks putting on a show on the North Shore of Oahu…..

People still need help here in Hawaii, but it was so good to see the sun and it was like the Whales were sending good vibes to the residents here.
