Each day the moon changes from our perspective here on Earth. Illuminated by our brightest star, it waxes and wanes like the cycles of our mind, mood, and emotions. When we sit in the stillness of quietude and allow our breath to come to the forefront of our attention, one may realize the goal is not to stop thinking. The “goal” is to surrender. There are no plans for the Earth to stop its incessant turning through the cosmos. It would be a false expectation to assume our minds would be any different. Even in the humble act of letting go of the fruits of our spiritual practices, they may still reveal profound glimpses of our divinity. These experiences are the most magical, and still yet, subject to impermanence.
I just finished a meditation anusthan for Navaratri which marks an important transition in the lunar calendar. It’s the time of year when we move from the outer world of form into the more subtle realms of our inner world. Each day represents a different form of Shakti, our universe’s primordial cosmic force, also known as Creation, Preservation, and Destruction. The first day builds a solid foundation of stability, a container to hold creation, and its expression of devotion. Shakti is always pulsing in this human form, and for the nine days, she bids us peek behind the curtain to discover our True Nature. On the last day, the veil of illusion is thinned, freeing us from its entanglement, just a little bit more. And, eventually, we may be granted mystical powers…
By allowing your own Inner light (Guru) to illuminate your True Being, even in the darkest of hours, you can discover powerful gifts like absolute faith in your own intuition, the ability to bask in complete utter presence, and a knowing of how to gracefully follow your unique path, without resistance.
This is me :) wearing the ceremonia dress. What I pretty much wear everyday to meditate in. Happy fall everyone.
