When I was in my early twenties I learned how to crochet. I only knew three stitches: chain, single stitch and double crochet. I had made a blanket. It took F-O-R-E-V-E-R, but the sense of accomplishment was just like I won a championship. I did one more blanket a few years later and then I had put it down. Then I turned thirty years old and I was married and pregnant.
Towards the end of the last trimester I became so swollen I couldn’t walk hardly at all. I didn’t have preeclampsia, but my son was so big already and I such a small woman my body just got swollen. I was practically confined to a couch with a recliner and that’s when the whole crochet idea began thanks to Pinterest. I was amazed at how many incredible women were creating such masterpieces and the free patterns available. I didn’t know how to read patters though, but after watching YouTube videos I learned and then I too started creating masterpieces. I also started printing patterns, and any pattern I had obtained and used from a website, person or book I tried my very best to make sure was announced. I definitely do my very best to make sure credit is given where credit is due.
As a new mom I was blown away about how EXPENSIVE some custom baby stuff was. Especially crochet items. I was finding cheap stuff, but it was kind of, “you get what you pay for” kind of stuff. My husband and I had a HUGE shift in our income as well, so we were sad and disappointed that we couldn’t afford a lot of cute and warm things for our son. I wanted to change that and not just for me, but for everyone. Now don’t get me wrong the more detailed items are, the more time it takes, and yes it does drive the price up, but when it’s something simplistic and you know your speed, material and how long it would take to do it, I had still seen things outrageously priced. I also keep seeing outrageous prices merely because the the label or name attached to it. So I created this page and VIP group in order to reach out to my local community as well as new parents and existing parents near and far, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to be able to purchase custom pieces at affordable and competitive prices for handmade and custom pieces for any season and event.
I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Your support has helped to carry my family through some tough times. If you are needing something to be made please message me and we can iron out the details. Wishing you all the very best!
