Meet Jeanie, a seasoned Florida artist who’s bringing her incredible talent to the Sarasota International Chalk Festival this November 8-10!
Jeanie's love for street painting was sparked while she was a student in Italy, where she first encountered large, temporary chalk paintings on the streets. Years later, she was thrilled to find this vibrant art form had made its way to her own neighborhood at the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival in South Florida. Since 1996, she’s been a regular there, and her passion has taken her across the US, Canada, and even back to Italy, where it all began.
With a background in Humanities and Art History from Florida State University, Jeanie has honed her skills by working alongside some of the world’s best chalk artists. She credits their camaraderie and generosity for shaping her artistic journey.
A longtime graphic designer in Palm Beach County, Jeanie is now slowly transitioning toward retirement, but her dedication to chalk art remains as strong as ever. Don’t miss your chance to see her stunning creations at this year’s festival!
