💪 Big salute to the crew of USCGC Diligence (WMEC 616) — sleeping easier after upgrading their racks with Fleet Sheets. ⚓🛏️

Just last month, Diligence offloaded 8,700 lbs of co***ne worth $64.5 million at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, Florida. 💥 The crew also helped intercept over 10,000 lbs of illicit narcotics while deployed in support of Joint Interagency Task Force–South.

Mission comfort: accomplished. Mission success: ongoing. 🌊

🇺🇸 The Story of the Five Sullivan Brothers 🇺🇸

George, Francis, Joseph, Madison, and Albert Sullivan were five brothers from Waterloo, Iowa. Raised in a close-knit Irish-American family, they shared a deep bond and a sense of duty to their country. After the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, all five enlisted in the U.S. Navy together—under one condition: that they serve on the same ship.

They were assigned to the USS Juneau (CL-52), a light cruiser. On November 13, 1942, during the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Juneau was struck by a Japanese torpedo. The ship went down quickly. Tragically, all five Sullivan brothers were lost in the aftermath—making theirs the greatest single-family sacrifice of World War II.

Their story shook the nation. The Sullivans became a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood. Their legacy lives on in the USS The Sullivans (DD-537), a Fletcher-class destroyer named in their honor, and later the USS The Sullivans (DDG-68), an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer still in service today.

The Sullivan brothers’ ultimate sacrifice reminds us of the heavy cost of freedom, and of the unbreakable bonds of family and service. ⚓

SDVT stands for SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team, which are units within the U.S. Navy SEALs specializing in underwater operations. These teams utilize specialized mini-submarines called SEAL Delivery Vehicles (SDVs) to transport SEALs for covert insertions and extractions, mine placement, and reconnaissance missions.
