After 20+ years of New York City apartment living with no outdoor space, suddenly having land felt both exciting and completely overwhelming.

My first instinct was to do everything.

My second instinct, the quieter one, was: start slowly.

I’m learning to trust that voice.

I’ve been quietly working on something behind the scenes.

Inspired by old gardens, collected homes, faded florals, and the pieces that make everyday moments feel a little more special.

It’s still taking shape, but I couldn’t resist sharing a glimpse.

The first of many beautiful things to come.

Coming soon to Hazel Home Co. 🌿

I almost drove past the garage sale.

I was on my way to a flea market, saw the sign at the end of a driveway, and pulled over because I had twenty minutes.

There, hanging from a hook on the side of a folding table, was a red and cream brocade handbag.

I knew it immediately…

Because I designed it twenty-two years ago.

I’ve passed on pieces with perfect patina and good weight because they didn’t feel right for the story I’m telling.

And I’ve chosen quieter pieces because they had something more enduring: honest materials, useful beauty, and the kind of presence that doesn’t need to perform.

Because a home should feel collected slowly, not assembled in a rush.

And the pieces worth keeping are usually the ones that quietly keep proving themselves useful, beautiful, and true.

One vintage piece changes everything.

For me, it was a console table I found in the basement of our 1890s house three months after we moved in. Finish ruined, but bones perfect.

I painted it forest green and put it in the hallway.

It transformed the entire space — and everything around it suddenly felt collected instead of bought.

Moving from NYC to Upstate New York changed the way I think about home.
It made me realize that the most beautiful homes aren’t the most perfect ones.
They’re the ones that feel collected, personal, and lived in.
That shift in perspective is what inspired Hazel Home Co.

Collected slowly, loved for years. ✨

A few of our newest vintage finds — handpainted trays, brass details, floral toleware, and charming pieces that make a home feel layered and storied.

These are the kinds of pieces that don’t need to match perfectly to belong together. They simply carry warmth, character, and a little bit of history. 🤍

Find these vintage pieces in the online shop before they’re gone.

The homes that feel the most beautiful are rarely the most perfect ones.

They’re the ones that evolve slowly — layered with pieces collected over time.

Vintage ceramics, soft linens, candlelight at dinner, flowers on the table.

Small details that turn everyday life into something meaningful.

That’s the idea behind Hazel Home Co.

A home inspired by the past, for everyday living.

Living in an older home changes the way you think about what makes a house feel beautiful.

Old houses aren’t perfect. Floors creak. Things age. Rooms evolve slowly.

My journey of living in an 1890s home in Upstate NY has taught me so much, especially after decades of life in the NYC hustle.

What’s something your home has taught you?

My business name has more meaning behind it than I expected.

Hazel was my grandmother’s nickname. She emigrated from Poland and believed deeply in family, gathering, and creating a warm home.

When I started this brand, the name felt natural.

But later I discovered something surprising.

The woman who lived next door to my 1890s home was also named Hazel.

Two Hazels connected by place and time.

It made the name feel even more meaningful.

To me, Hazel Home is about homes that hold stories — the kind that evolve slowly and are meant to be lived in.
