July 5th, 2026. A year in the making. I'm proud to say I finally did it. With the help of Savannah Harley-Davidson I will be hosting a monthly get together for anyone who wore the uniform. Veterans, Active duty, Law Enforcement, First Responders, and Firefighters.

We don't always know how to communicate. Who to talk to. How to talk. What to say. When to say it. We are building a place that is welcome and safe for anyone wanting to share their stories, tell how they were able to get past their issues to possibly help someone who just doesn't understand.

Or come to listen and support.

There will be a sign up list, but that is for the sole purpose of support and lunch. Harley Ink of Springfield has graciously offered to supply pizza for us.

We all know it's hard to take the first step. It's harder when you're by yourself and alone. Come find people who have taken those steps before you and are still here.

Memorial Day began as a solemn tradition to honor the dead left behind by the American Civil War on May 30, 1868. Originally called Decoration Day, communities across the nation gathered to place flowers on graves and remember those who never returned home. Over time, the tradition evolved into the national holiday now known as Memorial Day.

I seriously have always had mixed feeling for today. Everything always seems to get lost in the Memorial Day sale movement. People getting angry that they don't have the day off, or their favorite store is closed and it's an inconvenience. That's not what this day is all about.

We have lost the true meaning behind it. Some people remember and honor it. True Patriots, remember to honor those that have come before us and them. And so I leave you with this...
