Nepal has been part of Guru’s long before this disaster.

For years, pieces handmade in Nepal — clothing, singing bowls, sound tools, sacred art and artisan goods — have made their way into our stores and into the homes of our customers.

After the devastating floods, we wanted that connection to move in the other direction.

🇳🇵 FROM NEPAL, FOR NEPAL

Guru’s has partnered with Nepal Youth Foundation to support its 2026 flood response.

For three days at each location, 50% of the pre-tax purchase price of every marked Made-in-Nepal item sold will be donated directly to NYF’s flood response.

📍 BABYLON — SEPTEMBER 8–10
📍 SAYVILLE — SEPTEMBER 15–17

This is not a discount event.

The products remain the same price. Half of the qualifying purchase price goes back toward helping Nepal.

NYF is currently supporting relief efforts including emergency shelter, food and basic needs, nutrition support, long-term care for displaced children, and housing and vocational support for affected young adults.

You’ll see 🇳🇵 Nepal Relief tags throughout the store marking the pieces included in the initiative.

After both events are complete, we’ll share exactly how much our community helped raise.

Nepal has contributed to Guru’s for years.

For these six days, we hope our two Long Island communities can return some of that support.

From Nepal. For Nepal. 🇳🇵

Please share this with someone who may want to help.

That “ancient shadow point” isn’t a hidden planet.

Rahu is the Vedic name given to the North Lunar Node — one of the two invisible points where the Moon’s tilted orbit crosses the ecliptic, the apparent path of the Sun through our sky. The opposite point is Ketu.

When the Sun, Moon and Earth align near these nodes, eclipses become possible.

That is where astronomy and ancient symbolism meet.

And this eclipse adds another unusual layer.

In the Vedic sidereal sky, the Moon falls in Shatabhisha, one of the 27 nakshatras — often translated as “lunar mansions.”

Think of the nakshatras as a finer map of the Moon’s journey through the sky: 27 regions, each carrying its own traditional mythology, symbolism and planetary ruler.

Shatabhisha is traditionally ruled by Rahu itself.

Its name is often interpreted as “a hundred healers” or “a hundred medicines,” and it is associated with Varuna, hidden depths, healing, solitude and what lies beneath the visible surface.

So the symbolism becomes unusually layered:

An eclipse occurring through the lunar nodes…
with the Moon occupying a lunar mansion ruled by the very shadow point associated with eclipses.

It leaves us with a beautiful question:

What becomes visible when the light you normally rely on is interrupted?

Most modern Full Moon circles focus on what you do together.

This one is about what happens after you go home.

The August Full Moon arrives alongside Chandra Grahan — a lunar eclipse — and we’ll gather beforehand to understand how to prepare for both.

Through the lens of Sanatan Dharma, Ayurveda and Eastern spiritual traditions, we’ll explore Purnima, the Divine Feminine, traditional Full Moon ritual techniques, eclipse preparation, sacred tools, sound, mantra, and what practices are traditionally encouraged or avoided.

This is part sacred circle, part teaching, part practical ritual workshop — designed so you leave knowing how to create your own personal practice at home.

Each guest will also receive a Full Moon Ritual Satchel with thoughtfully selected items to incorporate into their own ritual time.

Thursday, August 27
7:00–8:15 PM

🌕 July’s Full Moon • Guru Purnima

Not every Full Moon carries the same meaning.

This one is Guru Purnima—the sacred Full Moon dedicated to honoring our teachers, our guides, and the wisdom that quietly shapes who we become.

In the Vedic tradition, this Moon falls in Shravana Nakshatra, often translated as the “star of listening.” Before we speak, teach, or seek more, we’re reminded to simply listen.

Listen to those who came before us.
Listen to the lessons life keeps repeating.
Listen to the quiet voice within that often gets drowned out by everyday noise.

Jupiter, known as Guru in Vedic astrology, symbolizes wisdom, higher learning, and spiritual growth. With Saturn currently retrograde, there’s also an invitation to slow down—to reflect instead of react, and to embody what we’ve learned rather than chasing what’s next.

If you’re spending a few moments with this Full Moon, here are a few simple ways to honor it:

• Reach out to someone who has changed your life and say thank you.
• Sit outside under the moon for a few quiet minutes.
• Journal on this question:
What lesson am I finally ready to live—not just understand?
• Cleanse and recharge your favorite crystals.
• End the night with gratitude.

Sometimes our greatest teacher isn’t a person.

Sometimes it’s a season of life.
A challenge.
A loss.
A moment that changed everything.

Happy Guru Purnima. May this Full Moon bring wisdom, clarity, and a little more trust in your own path. 🤍

🍓🌕 The Full Strawberry Moon rises June 29.

Despite the name, it isn’t called the Strawberry Moon because it turns pink.

The name comes from the brief wild strawberry harvest—a reminder that some of the sweetest things in life only arrive after time, patience, and care.

Maybe you’ve been working on yourself.
Maybe you’ve been building something nobody else sees yet.
Maybe you’ve simply made it through a difficult season.

That’s worth celebrating.

Look up for a minute.

Not because the moon will magically change your life, but because slowing down long enough to notice where you are can.

A few questions to bring with you into this Full Moon:

• What am I proud of that I’ve barely acknowledged?

• What am I making harder than it needs to be?

• What deserves more of my energy this summer?

If you’re creating a Full Moon ritual this month, stop by Gurus to explore our handmade intention candles, ethically sourced crystals, incense, journals, and other ritual essentials to make the evening your own. 🌙✨

However you spend tonight, we hope you find a little stillness, a little gratitude, and a reason to keep growing.

Happy Full Strawberry Moon. ❤️

Save this for June 29 and tag someone you’ll be watching the Full Moon with.

The Full Moon in Scorpio peaks tonight.

This one isn’t surface-level.

It highlights the Taurus–Scorpio axis:
self-worth, stability, control, and emotional truth.

You may feel:
– clarity around what’s actually sustainable
– awareness of where your energy has been drained
– a pull to release something you’ve been holding onto

Not everything that feels stable is meant to stay.

If something feels off… trust that.

If you’ve been feeling a shift lately… trust that. ⬇️

The Flower Moon peaks May 1 in Scorpio.

This one sits on the Taurus–Scorpio axis:
money, stability, power, and control.

It tends to bring clarity around:
– what’s financially sustainable
– where you’ve been overgiving
– what no longer feels worth holding onto

Not everything that feels stable is meant to stay.

Pay attention to what feels off.
There’s something there.

For this Full Moon, we’ve curated:
full moon intention candles,
hand-selected crystals for release + clarity,
and readings with our clairvoyant Rose for deeper insight.

We’re deeply honored to have been a small part of Gabby’s journey.

Hearing from her mothers reminds us that the energy we create in a space can leave a lasting impact—especially on young souls searching, growing, and discovering themselves.

Gabby’s light, curiosity, and spirit are something we’ll never forget. 🤍

This is more than a shop—it’s a place to feel, to connect, and to grow. And moments like this remind us why that matters.

If you’ve ever stepped into our space, you know… energy is everything.
