Today’s appointments are a reminder that not every great outfit needs to dominate the room. Sometimes the goal is confidence, comfort, and understated sophistication while allowing the client’s vision to remain the focus.
Today I’m meeting with a longtime customer looking for a very distinctive custom suit, so I intentionally chose something quieter stylistically — one of my favorite lightweight summer fabrics from Drago Bluefeel.
The look features a one-button peak lapel jacket with matching trousers, paired with a custom black mildly textured button-down collar shirt. I’ve always appreciated how a button-down collar can soften a tailored look while still maintaining structure and polish.
After seven consecutive selections by Esquire Magazine as one of the Top 100 Clothiers in America — and years designing the custom blazers presented to NCAA Final Four coaches — one thing I’ve learned is that true style is often about restraint, balance, and understanding the occasion.
That philosophy never goes out of style.
