Another pair of shoes with a both heel pads gone! Since the decorative wrapping (for lack of a better termπŸ˜…) on the plastic heel blocks was also destroyed, I just went ahead and built new heel blocks for them as well. These should last much longer and be much more durable! Thanks to Julie for the continued business!! πŸ˜πŸ‘

Customer's right boot sole got worn clear through, and the plastic/veneer wrapped heels left MUCH to be desired.🀒 So a new cork footbeds (replacing the cheap factory foam ones), new leather half-soles, new solid leather heel blocks, and new rubber heel pads were in order. With new black leather soles, and burnished and polished heels, they turned out just as good as new if not better with good quality materials! Julie was thrilled with them, and as always, her business is much appreciated!πŸ€©πŸ‘πŸ‘

Mallorie Borntrager wanted leather soles instead of rubber. So that's what she got! I could probably just have done a half-sole, but I ended up replacing the entire sole and heel block complete with a new cork footbed, and rubber heel pad. She has been happy with them so far, and that's the goal, so I'd say another success story there!πŸ€©πŸ‘ Thanks Mallorie for the business!

This is probably my favorite project! The outsole on my brother-in-law's Lucchesse's wore a hole through, so they got a new half-sole! I really liked how the pattern on the bottom turned out so gorgeous!! But more importantly, so did my brother-in-law!!!πŸ€©πŸ˜πŸ‘

Here's my first project involving Outsole Repair. The thread on the bottom of my all-time favorite dress boots wore through, and the outsole began separating from the welt. So I cut the remaining threads and pulled back the outsole. Then I swabbed some Outsole Cement on between the outsole and insole, pressed it back together, sewed it up, and they remain my favorite dress boots today!πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘β€οΈπŸ‘’

If I remember correctly, this would have been the very first project I tackled. The side seam split out on my favorite pair of work boots, and they were quite dirty and in need of some boot oil and some good ole' TLC! Some needle and thread action with a dollop of glue to seal it all up did the trick, and they lasted me years again!πŸ˜πŸ‘

Hello and welcome to J Smith Leatherworks! My name is Jordan Smith. This page was created to generate some interest, and hopefully, business for one of my hobbies/turned passion! I have been working with boots and shoes for some time now doing different projects including care and repair of different footwear, but specializing in western boots. I have been enjoying this quite a bit, and, as there seems to be a good bit of interest for what I'm doing, I've decided to try and see if I can make a bit of a side hustle, out of it. So! Long story short, I am interested in any projects and business anyone might have for me! While I don't claim to be a professional (yet), there's no project I won't consider! If you have anything you'd like me to work on, or ideas/advice/friendly banter, feel quite free to hit me up! I will do my level best to take care of you! Thank You!☺️
