Stephen Villanueva, founder and CEO of Otero Menswear believes he is most successful and most personally fulfilled when he is able to find a better way to do something - and share it with others. Since the advent of mass production, men's clothing has generally been offered in small, medium or large and is usually too long and disproportionately designed - ignoring the needs of men who are under 5'9" in height. At 5' 7" tall, Stephen has personally experienced a lifetime of frustration while searching for high quality menswear that actually fit him. As is often the case, the most wildly successful and innovative products are designed by the person who is experiencing a problem and needs to solve it. Stephen knew above all that his solution needed to be simple, straightforward and easily understood by the marketplace; men up to 5'9" tall and over 25 years of age that consider themselves to be anything but average. Men who desire to dress well and walk in confidence. Stephen developed a system he calls 3D Proportional Sizing ™ and began working on design concepts that would become Otero Menswear. 3D Proportional Sizing ™ takes into consideration a man’s height, body type and shape in order to create the perfect fit. The length of the shirt, width of the collar, sleeve length and even the button placket are proportionately sized to men under 5'9" tall. This 3D sizing allows for a more aesthetic appeal as the shirt looks properly proportioned to the individual’s body and provides a superior fit to typical “off the rack” menswear. We're talking about exceptional clothing that is fashion forward and smart; impressive while reserved and professional. Our classic polos, tees and jeans are contoured to your body - visibly leaning and lengthening. Every stitch, collar, and seam is intentional, designed to help you embrace what makes you, you; confidently and in style.
