White Sewing Center Peter Brindisi: Pete has owned and operated the White/Singer Sewing Center since 1962. Starting out in Easton, Pa. He opened 2 additional stores.

and branching into Scranton to the Globe Store. The closing of the Globe sent Pete on a mission to find other locations in our area. One in the Scranton Fabric Center and the other in Joann's Fabrics Edwardsville, Pa. Pete and his son Bob still run the Easton store which is located at 209 Northampton St. Jan Rosser: Jan has worked in the sewing industry since 1962. Starting in the Globe store, sh

e soon became manager of the White/Singer Sewing Center. Jan has achieved many trophies and awards for sales and service. She has received recognition for working with the 4H.

Children's Sewing classes

For students ages 7+. Students do not need to own their own sewing machine, but if

they have one, they can bring it. Space is limited so $60 deposit is necessary to secure a

place. Submit registration form with deposit.

Session 1 - “Beginner/Intermediate Sewers”

Tuesdays 1/9, 16, 23, 30, 2/6, & 13 4:30-6:30 PM Cost $120.00

Your child will learn how to comfortably operate a sewing machine, while making several challenging and fun projects

that they can take home.

Prerequisite: No prior sewing experience is necessary.

What is covered?

Sewing machine safety
Parts of the sewing machine
How to thread the machine
Basic sewing terms
How to pin fabric
Using the machine
Basic stitches-Straight stitches, how &
why to reverse stitch, zig zag stitches
Sewing corners & curves

Session 2 - “Intermediate Sewers”

Saturdays 1/13, 20, 27, 2/3, 10, & 17 10:00-12:00 PM Cost $120.00

Strengthen your understanding of sewing processes and refine your sewing skills as you sew projects that require

consistent sewing. Use your creativity and begin to understand how to use sewing to personalize your things.

Recommended ages 9+.

Prerequisite: At least one sewing session
