Alternative Surf Bodyboard shop was founded in 1995 as the first bodyboard and accessories retailer in the United States with both a shop location and an online store. Alternative surf over the years not only provided all the necessary hard gear for body boarders and bodysurfers but over time built a strong clothing and merchandise brand that bodyboarders wear around the world. In December of 2021

Dave Goodrich and Matt Olsen acquired the brand and dedicated themselves to revamping the shop and the brand. Both owners are long time Seal Beach/ orange county body boarders and are dedicated lifelong Alternative Surf customers who are committed to building the sport and community of bodyboarding and wave riding. Alternative surf is the first and last beachfront retail bodyboarding all in one stop shop. Alternative surf has a deep history in the sport of bodyboarding, the community of Seal Beach and orange county. Bodyboard friends from all over the world stop by the store when they come to California. So come by the shop to see what we are all about. All of our staff are active wave riders that love and live the sport of bodyboarding. Our 🗡 bicep is the girthiest leash on the market. 10 mm ,4 foot coil and quick detach system. We FINALLY got some solid swell on the horizon , grab one so your not stuck chasing your sled up the beach !!!!
