On a whim, I took a detour and followed a yard sale sign to a home where quite literally everything was for sale. It was like nothing I'd personally experienced, and I will leave it at that. Among the overflow I found art, art that I learned was painted by the seller's great grandmother. It was beautifully framed and colorful. Even though I wasn't sure if I could use it personally, I could not leave her. I brought her home, and I am so happy that she now has her own wall. I don't know the woman who painted her years ago, but I hope she'd be happy to know her talent is still being enjoyed.

Side note: She also had painted pictures of her children or grandchildren, but those just felt too personal. I hope someone will find a purpose for them.

My Spanish conquistador has officially found a new home! I have a feeling he’ll be quite the conversation piece for years to come.

In his place, I’ve added this beautiful set. While a little more contemporary, these pieces bring such a sense of calm, peace, and connection to nature.

A little change, a fresh perspective, and a whole new feeling for the room.

I found this guy and had to pick him up (painted canvas from 1970s with a gorgeous solid wood frame). He's a Spanish conquistador with a haunting gaze. The stories he could tell!

He currently resides at The Bee's Knees in Searcy, Arkansas.

I definitely got out of my comfort zone with these side tables. It started with the color and it didn't stop until I'd learned how to use a miter box. I'm still learning, but I do love how it turned out. I'm also enjoying giving a second chance to something that might have been otherwise discarded.
