The Dining Table is Full of Micro-Plastics

On the market, 60% of clothing fabric is made from plastic-based materials like polyester and acrylic.

According to statistics, up to 1,900 fibers on average can be shed by a synthetic clothing garment during just a single trip through the washing machine (published by Environmental Science and Technology). It is a form of microplastics up to five millimeters in size. Too small to be seen.

So where will they go? They go directly into the sewage system, float in the ocean and end up in the stomachs of marine animals. Sometimes it's seafood like oysters, fish, ... and eventually back to the human table.
The story is not new and certainly will not stop if you still use poor-quality fabrics.

Shein: The Shameless Intellectual Property Theft

You spend hours or even years creating a work of art. But one day, you see your own baby on a sweater that’s worth £17 indiscriminately without consent or permission.

This incident was calling Shein - the fast fashion retailer in a lawsuit of intellectual property theft. The artwork belonged to Vanessa Bowman - a famous artist with 88K followers on Instagram.

“They didn’t remotely bother trying to change anything,” she said. “The things I paint are my garden and my little village: it’s my life. And they’ve just taken my world to [China](https://www.theguardian.com/world/china) and whacked it on an acrylic jumper.”

As much of the expansion is overgrown of Shein, so too is the list of alleged copyright breaches. Dozens of people were outraged about this copyright theft with the tagline . China’s fast-fashion giant retailer, Shein, has faced more than 50 lawsuits for alleged copyright infringement over the past 3 years.

Shein is Hiding This From You

Shein became the most famous fashion brand in 2022 with the brand value reaching $100 billion (published by Bloomberg). Every day, Shein lists between 2,000 and 10,000 items on its website. And 1 million products could be created in just one day.

However, most of the material Shein uses is virgin polyester. Unsurprisingly, its leaves about 6.3 million tons of carbon dioxide a year in its trail. OMG!!!

There will be no end to Shein's expansion unless we take action today.

According to IPBES, about one million animal and plant species are facing the risk of extinction due to climate change. They are unable to adapt to the rapidly changing environmental conditions.
