This is my current view for the next hour or so. Wedding dress hems are no joke. I've already spent an hour cutting, another serging and now a third finishing the edges. Used the extra fabric to make the corset back lacing longer and created a wider privacy panel. We'll be adding a French bustle to the back of this dress and mark ties for that tomorrow during our fit check🙂

Today I hit the skirt that matches the top I worked yesterday. It needed to come up a couple inches and reduce the waist by that much too, so since the bottom of the skirt was stoned/embroidered with horsehair braid hem, took out the excess from the waist areas. Now I'm hand sewing the waistband back on after all of the reductions. Whew!

Haven't posted in a fat minute, I've been BUSY since the end of April and have seen over 20 special occasion dresses come through my door! Tonight was this top needing shorter sleeves. Carefully cut, stones removed and hand sewn. Tomorrow I shorten the matching skirt...breathe.

Client brought me a wedding reception dress that almost fit. Just shy a couple inches, needed strap adjustments. I got to work, found extra fabric in the seam allowences, added some seam binding tape to give extra anchor for new seams and added silicone elastic to the straps so they stay put. Now it fits like it was made for her! I love what I do😊

The longer an item stays with me, the more stuff gets added🤣 This jacket has gained some star studs on the collar, a sequin/embroidered black tree and a couple of black kitty patches framed in hand crocheted trim. This jacket is going into my online SCRAPD store, so will have to be purchased from that site only🙂
