Meet our new Seattle Brand Ambassador Christian Junkar!

Christian is a mountain athlete and personal trainer in Seattle, WA. He enjoys climbing of all kinds from rock to ice, trail running, and skiing from winter to summer (yes we ski in the summer in Washington). Growing up in Arizona, living there until he was 15, he explored canyons and the open desert, and some mountains. After moving to Washington, he has explored almost every outdoor sport you can imagine, settling into a love of climbing and being in the mountains. He finds the places in our backyard endlessly enticing and is always looking into new ways up.

He is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and has spent thousands of hours working 1:1 with clients to reach their goals in fitness via Goal Based Training. He has skied from the top of every Washington volcano, plus Mt Hood and Mt Shasta, and is looking to connect the dots in between. He also has rock, ice, and mixed first ascents in Washington.

Hi Arc friends! here, Community Ambassador for . Last weekend, I helped create a pretty special mountain bike community event called “The Whole Shebang” alongside , , , and . We brought together 30 women local to the greater Seattle area: shop owners, trail builders, coaches, artists, pro athletes, and group ride leaders to come together for a day of digging, riding, and networking. Our hope was to foster community & conversation among the creators of our local women’s MTB community, to learn from one another, to broaden networks, and to get the wheels turning for future opportunities to uplift and support one another. The event was a huge success and I am looking forward to seeing what this PNW women’s community has next in the works!

We’re partnering with to present a fundraiser climbing competition for Climbers of Color!

TOMORROW, October 22nd, 2021 from 6pm to 10pm at Seattle Bouldering Project | Poplar located at 900 Poplar Pl S, Seattle, WA 98144

$20 gets you entry to the comp, raffle and gym entry and all those proceeds go to benefit Climbers of Color.

To register for the competition, please visit the link in our bio. Registration is through our friends at KAYA Climb and requires users to be registered users on the KAYA Climb app.

Registration for the climbing competition is open now and runs through 5:50pm tomorrow night (10/22). This event is open to all, including Non-BIPoC allies!

Prizes courtesy of , , , , , , and Seattle Bouldering Project.

Format + Scoring for the competition is as follows:
• All climbs in the gym will be eligible for the competition.  One section of the gym will be roped off for the competition only.  
• Scoring is simple.  1 point logged = 1 raffle entry ticket.  
• At the conclusion of the competition, a raffle will be conducted to determine winners from the competition.

It’s been nearly one month since our Gore Wash event!

Attendees learned all about our Gore-Tex products, and what makes each model different— from stitching to style to function.

Most importantly, they learned how to wash and care for their Gore-Tex jackets so that they will last many more seasons to come.
