Phoenician Design Studio

Phoenician Design Studio The term Phoenican refers to a person from and area once occupied by Rome now called Lebanon. Lebanon is literally my fatherland as I am half Lebanese.

The Phoenician (A.K.A. Omar Akkari) started leather working a year ago as a hobby; this hobby grew into Phoenician Leather. He has since become the go-to guy for local photographers when they're in need of a unique leather piece for fashion editorials and artwork. He has designed steampunk pieces, gothic armor and much more. His unique designs use thick molded leather and rivets whenever possible.

He uses the help of a laser cutter to etch and shade intricate designs on many pieces. The Phoenician's design background stems from a bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture. He is currently working on a double Masters in Environmental Science and City and Regional Planning.

Fixed up an old wrist band for my wife's friend. He wore this wrist band to remember his husband who passed away. His late husband wore a matching one. The leather around the snaps deteriorated from decades of wear. I cut away the bad leather and added black extentions to represent the bereavement of his husband.
