Recent Trend Report: The In’s, The Out’s & The Expectations for 2026.

When I started in the closet industry in 2015, closets were often the final line item — designed after the kitchen, after the lighting, and usually after the budget (and mental energy) had already been spent.

Today, rightfully so..that narrative has shifted.

Closets are now part of the initial renovation conversation — planned alongside kitchens and primary suites, not after them. Storage is no longer an afterthought; it’s a design decision.

I recently contributed to a trend report outlining what’s in, what’s out, and where expectations are heading for 2026. Below are a few excerpts from the full piece.

As we wrap up one very big and exciting year, I’m feeling incredibly grateful. 🤍

This year brought growth in so many ways opening a new location, remodeling our main space, and now proudly operating in Seattle, Tacoma, and Chelan. None of this happens alone.

Thank you to our industry partners at NKBA, NWSID, ASID, and IDS for your support, collaboration, and shared commitment to great design. To all our clients and friends—your trust, referrals, and belief in our work continue to push us forward and help us reach new heights.

To my talented team: thank you for showing up every day ready to grow, create, and challenge what’s possible in a competitive industry. You are setting a new standard for how closets work and how they can be.

And a special thank you to Paul Valley for the opportunities and trust that allow us to be creative, explore new ways of working, and bring fresh skills and ideas to life.

As I step into my fourth year, I’m so excited for what’s ahead and deeply thankful for everyone who’s been part of the journey so far.

I’ve gone back into the closet!

Hi all 👋 it’s been a while, and I’m excited to share that after a year away from the closet business, I have accepted a Senior Design Manager position with a smaller, local, very custom closet company, Inspired Closets by Organized Spaces. We have a very talented design team with incredibly skilled installers and have been in the Seattle area for over 20 years. In the last 3 months, I have helped our team usher in new concepts and create bigger goals to keep up with the competitive market. I’ve also witnessed stunning projects come to life flawlessly. We have BIG things coming down the pike, and I couldn’t be more excited.

So as before, if you or anyone you know are looking for a reliable, creative, homegrown local team, Inspired Closets is the place to trust with your home projects!
